Jermaine Taylor, took on Winky Wright...when no one..! no one..! wanted to face Winky Wright.

That's the measure of the man, i don't think Jermaine Taylor was and is a hype job.

Nor do I, very good fighter

But two wins over Bernard then facing Winky (who I thought he beat) suggested a long rule, or a long time amongst the elite

The Pavlik defeats saw to that I feel

He just doesn't seem to have the desire to be a dominant force like a Hopkins

froch by UD if not Ko in the middle rounds. by the looks of it taylor is already scared. why else would he turn down the fight with froch for the vacant WBC strap, then turn around and take the fight against lacy in an elimination bout for the right to fight the winner of froch v pascal?? yeah they've signed to fight now, but it seems a little reluctant on taylors part to me. it certainly took them long enough to get it sorted didnt it.

Yep but Bhop at the stage was weight drained at 160. Look how rejuvenated he was at 175. Despite this imo he went 1-1 with the young hungry focused taylor.

I'll be cheering for Froch all the way, but i'm pretty sure Taylor has enough tools in his arsenal to take a UD. Froch does deserve kudos for taking to the road against a quality opponent in his first defence though.

Taylor has admitted a few times that he is only in the sport for the money; he's not a fan of boxing, doesn't even watch any fights.

He'll go for the best available money bout that he can get. I doubt that he was running scared from Froch at any point.

Agreed, you can't accuse a guy who has got in with Hopkins twice, Pavlik twice, Miranda, Winky of running scared, he will (and has) fought anyone

Taylor, who holds two wins over Bernard Hopkins, insists he will not be looking to box Froch on the retreat.

"Froch has been running his mouth a lot, now it's time to shut him up," said Taylor.

"I know exactly what I have to do. I have to take the fight right to him."

Bad Intentions' cornerman Ozell Nelson believes Froch can expect a very tough night.

"If things go as planned, we are going to mess Froch up real, real good," Nelson said.

Froch needs to have improved a lot to win this but if he can then he could become a big name here.

Will Tyson Fury be on the undercard?

It says on the bbc Carl Froch's camp has denied claims that he is set to defend his WBC super-middleweight title against Jermain Taylor in Connecticut in April.

It was reported that the 31-year-old from Nottingham was set to fight on 25 April at Mashantucket, Connecticut.

The deal was announced by Taylor's American publicist, Norman Horton, on Saturday but Froch's promoters have since said that is untrue.

No one has ever wanted to take on that awkward southpaw and no one will ever want to take him on.

    Makes for an ugly fight.

He rematched Kelly Pavlik straight away, and was by no means beat up. He smacked Kelly Pavlik about abit, technically and athletically he is a far better fighter than Kelly Pavlik. But Jermaine Taylor is like sprinter, when he does work. "It's bad intention and high intensity"........but he works in pocket's....his stamia will always be average.

When Jermaine Taylor fights..oponents with average workrate's. Fighters who work in the 40 punches a round range......

    "He will beat them all"

    Too big, to athletic......

Carl Froch hit's hard..maybe..? But apart from that, he does not have Joe Calzaghe type movemenet or hand speed/workrate.

I kind of want Carl Froch to win, because then maybe Joe Calzaghe will come back on go Skitzo on him.

But i have liked Jermaine Taylor for along time, and this could easily be..

    "Bad Intentions" Part 2..

Kool will you ever understand that boxing and sprinting aren't comparable sports. A boxer without stamina will always be found out. It isn't a 9-11 second sprint.
