Why was this changed from a KO to a TKO? He took a lot longer than ten seconds to get up. :?

So the fact that the ref chose to wave his hands rather than perform the count downgrades the victory method on JMM's record? That's ****ing bull****. This was a brutal KNOCKOUT. Nothing 'technical' about it.

    No this was definately technical.
    Those shots were so textbook.
That is how you are supposed to finish not like almost every boxer does by headhunting when ur opponent is hurt.

Is JMM one of the best finishers in the game? If he has you hurt his offense is probably one of the best after that. He keeps the opponent guessing where to block and they dont know whatt hit them during the combinations....

That's not what I meant by technical. Semantic misunderstanding here.

I was referring to the "technicality" of the knockout itself, as it's officially ruled. The "T" in "TKO". Of course JMM's performance was technical mastery, but this was IMO a knockout, not a technical knockout. It isn't like Diaz beat the count and wobbled on his feet and the ref waved it off. He went down, and clearly wasn't getting up (and didn't ultimately for several minutes). That's a KO - not a TKO. It's a niggling distinction but there's slightly more prestige as a matter of record for the former than the latter. JMM was robbed of a KO ruling IMO. Unless I'm just misunderstaning the rules - in which case the rules are stupid and wrong. If a ref waves it off because a fighter hits the ground unconscious, that should be the same ruling as not beating a ten-count. A TKO is a slight downgrade from a clean KO (which this was).
