It's a pity Larry Merchant is getting old and this topic wouldn't be raging. Larry is the best, the man is hilarious. His little metaphors and turn of phrase cracks me up.

I`m not English, and everybody with a brain dislike's max because he is woefully under-qualified for the job!

He is just an embarrassment to HBO, but mostly to himself.

I'm sure he has fans and non fans around the whole world but the poms in here supporting Puncey are as transparent as a window.

What makes someone qualified? Lennox Lewis and Roy Jones Jr are two of the greatest fighters to ever lace them up but are two of the worst commentators ever to appear on HBO.

Don't flatter yourself Max, you're not that important.

They don't give interviews, and their opinions mean something because of who they are: they earned our respect! Kellerman has earned nothing but a smack in the mouth due to poor interviews and poor opinions!

You mean they only spring up after every fight, were people can once again see his weaknesses..............I'm shocked:yikes

You would think that real haters would be stalking his ass every day on here, just like they did when Calzaghe was active.

Can you see what I mean?

bunce did not ask him one question about duran, just paid him a complement, then he asked about his amature career, an when kirkland wanted to explain the injustice done to him, brunce moved on like some soviet journalist hiding from the truth to be uncovered, an put a question of responsiblity on him, His drinking, guess what alot people got drinking problems, sure i wouldn't mind to hear a couple of war storys, but truth have it, i wanted that amature story, not a dear Abby story.....Maybe that why you do not like kellerman, he is there to ask question about the sport, not psycho babel ****....I seen kellerman do many interviews, an does not use kitten gloves, but he is not a **** either,,,

Bunce doesn't really come across as a fan of Hatton. He lays into him a fair bit.

Hatton also fights on the rival network...

I don't have any "hatred" for Kellerman but if this is the best HBO has to offer then they have serious problems. I don't find his interviewing skills, questions or commentary compelling in the least. I could care less about his background, what salary he makes, what school he attended or what his dad does for a living. All that matters is how insightful his questions are, his ability to connect with viewers and his knowledgeable of the sport. There have to be better alternatives out there

Agreed his slobbering over David Haye takes the cake. The whole production of Haye v Barrett stunk of a fix to me.
