There has been some good fights on HBO, Sho, ESPN to start of this year in boxing ... Berto v Collazo Margarito v Mosley (FOY frontrunner) Campbell v Funeka Marquez v Diaz Darchinyan v Arce Adamek v Banks and there are plenty more to come and a majority are non - PPV events. Wright v Williams Kirkland v Julio Taylor v Froch Lopez v Penalosa Bradley v Holt Dawson v Tarver Klitschko v Gomez (ESPN) Lucian Bute v Sam Peter v Eddie Chambers Dirrell v Banks What do you guys think ...
Thank you PHILLA. It's a performance of the year candidate, but it was not competitive during any of it. In order for a fight to be FOTY, it has to be great, and in order for it to be a great fight, it has to be competitive. Common sense.
I agree ... HBO is doing its part, but you still have TopRank pulling bull**** PPV's ... I know some of them attract certain demographics but damn ... wouldn't you want these guys to be in big events? ... thats why most of these guys don't become major PPV draws.
Diaz vs Marquez will most likely be the Fight of the year. It would take a very special fight indeed to surpass what we saw this weekend.
I agree lol, that was great... watching that cheater get pummeled by viscous rights and lefts... but he's right , a FOTY has to be competitive
Mosley better not get upset of the year against Margarito ... those guys were dead even ... Hatton is going to get upset of the year once he beats Pacquiao ... and i'm sure that there will be some fights that would come close to last nights fight ... I wouldn't be surprised if there are fireworks next week ... when Kirkland and Julio face off.
How could Margarito-Mosley possible be FOTY? I'm a raging Shane nuthugger, and I love that fight - but a "FOTY" is an epic battle...and that, it wasn't.
