I'm not saying hes scared I'm saying he knows his chances of winning against naturaly bigger men who can box well are less then if he continued fighting at 135 - 140 lbs. I know he called out Mosley and would have fought Cotto but I believe it would have been more for the pay day. I'm not saying he cant beat them at 147 but his chances especially against Mosley wouldnt be so great IMO. All I'm saying is if he staid between 135 - 140 he would have more dominant and credible wins especially to all his haters which I am not one of them. The only fight I think was ridiculous was his fight with Oscar because the size difference is just too much especially at that point in Oscar's career since he was walking around at 165 - 170 lbs, and the fight proved it because Mayweather got on his roller skates and just constantly fought defensively except for when Oscar stopped throwing Mayweather would get a quick flurry in. I know Floyd deserved the win I'm not taking it away from him but I think that fight should have never been made and that it was based mostly on the pay day.
Yea thats what I was talking about. Guys like Mosley, Oscar, Margo are walking around at 165 - 175 lbs and fighting at 155 - 160 lbs while Floyd walks around at 154 and fights at 148 - 149 lbs. In the 1930's - 40's Floyd would be fighting other natural 147 pounders but with all this weight cutting today its just not the same. Thats why if Floyd is comfortable at 150 - 154 pounds on the street then after training camp he should weigh in at 140 and come in at 145 - 147 on fight night just like the others so he's not at a true weight disadvantage.
I wouldnt complain if FMJ fought JMM, Pac or anyone for that matter, my only problem with Mayweather is this retirement nonsense, he is robbing the fans of some great fights.... fights that could help his case regarding him being the GOAT. I dont mind a bit of banter, especially from a boxer of Floyd`s class but if your gonna say you are better than SRR & Ali..... at least have the decency to keep on fighting to back the claims up, dont retire in your prime, thats my problem. For the record - I do regard Floyd as the best boxer in the world, probably the best since Whitaker & Chavez.

No one was really bashing him in terms of his accomplishments and victory's until he went up to 147 pounds. I think at 135 - 140 pounds he can be a more dominant fighter and prove further that he is the best in the world today. I know he can still make 140 no problem so from a boxing fan's stand point I would have liked to see him fight more at 135 and then go up to 140 lbs and see him there today fighting all comers. I know he can still win at 147 and beat big names I am not dnying that at all.
He had nothing left to prove at 135 and was struggling to make the weight. He stated this much publicly. People clamor for Casamayor and Freitas, but they had already both been beaten by fighters that PBF bested. At 140, Hatton and Cotto would not fight him. Why stay? Tszyu had just come back and was then subsequently beaten in a bout he took for more money that PBF offered him, even though PBF was a bigger challenge. Floyd cannot be faulted here. So, he moved up to 147 to do what? Oh yeah, win the linear championship. Which he did. Then he beat the former champion as well.
I didnt know he was having trouble making the weight I'm surprised cause he walks around at roughly 150, maybe that has changed. If he couldnt make the weight then I agree he should move up obviously. I see your point about why stay at 135 - 140 cause the competition was dipping a bit but now it seems to be gettig better again. It just pisses me off when people criticize him for not dominating as much at 147 pounds cause he really is a small welteweight in both height and size.
