well if hatton wins, i`d have him as high as #3 (JMM being undisputed #1)! depending, of course, on the type of victory; a dominate and early KO would mean he could easily be #2!

but realistically, he will be in the top 4 if he wins!

Its just a way the British media has been selling the fight. Like the BBC had an article up this morning where they were saying the same thing.

Will anyone else still have manny higher then ricky even if manny loses? Cause frankly the way I see it its a no win situation for Ricky. If he beats the guy well all that proves is that 140 lbs is too much for Manny the same way it was too much for Arguello. It won't prove that Ricky is a better fighter then Manny. And thats coming from a realistic Hatton fan.

I mean Manny would fall but he already has such a large list of accomplishments that he probably wouldn't fall much past the 5th spot. And Ricky at this point in his career has still has a realatively weak resume for a top five p4p so even with the win it would be tough for me to justify putting him up there.

Hatton will be considered by many the #1 p4p guy or #2 if he beats Pacquiao ... just because JMM is #2 doesn't mean anything.

he is promoting his fight and trying to make the most money possible. it is a huge fight and he is trying to make it as big as possible. not only that, but he is preemptively promoting his next fight as well. if he can beat pac (not a sure thing either), there will have been a steady chorus of "if i beat him i'll be the #1 p4p king" the entire time. we all know ricky wants pbf again (i can't see how the fight will be different), and i cannot see pbf letting someone he skull dragged around the ring saying "if i beat pac...if i beat pac...if i beat pac...now i did so i am best." pbf would probably fight ricky again just to put him in his place and another fight is just what ricky wants. its shameless marketing but from a $$ standpoint its not unexpected

Well now that's just got me curious. Did Tarver all of a sudden become P4P #1 after knocking out Roy Jones in their second fight??

If not, where was he rated?

hahaha, Its funny you brought that up, cause ya thats exactly what he and all this nuthuggers though. Infact his whole person changed to be based around that win.

But anyways I def know what you mean. Anyone with half a brain will keep Ricky in the bottom half of the top ten if he wins. Frankly he needs to beat a Cotto or a Mosely or something to really show he's worthy of a top 4 spot.

He was as high as three behind Hopkins and Mayweather. Jones dropped out completely from the top ten.

Hopkins himself had gone from around tenth spot to number two on the strength of beating number three Trinidad and then inherited number one spot from Jones.

Who would be the 7 or 8 above him?

Just so we can judge what they have done to be 'worthy'...
