You are right on the whole styles difference. JMM and Pac might be too brave for their own good versus Hatton but I would think JMM and Beristain would work on a good strategy that would involve something similar to Mayweathers.
Before he moved up to LW i had doubts on the Hatton fight but JMM has shown his power has carried up with him and his chin looks sturdier even.
Now i think he has what it takes to beat Hatton.
However father time is gonna show up sometime soon. He is pretty old and in his last few fights his new style has made him take more punishment.

Yea, that would be a great ending. I would also like to see Marquez beat pac for the 140 pound crown but the possibility of Pac fighting Marquez if he were to beat Hatton are low IMO. I already saw a thread saying Hatton wants JMM next if he wins. That fight is more likely to happen. I too happen to think Hatton will win and think it will probably end up being a Hatton Marquez match up.

I dont know about the power. He just KOd 2 guys that have never been Kod before at a new weight. Actually ever since the 2nd Pac fight i thought that it seemed as if JMM had increased his power. Do you think he has been working on his power lately?

    You forget JMM is Mexican!:lol::D

If he were to beat Hatton, it would be nothing like how Mayweather did it.....except possibly a similar ending.

I'm convinced that Mayweather did'nt even work on his boxing to fight Hatton......

.....Mayweather at the time he fought Hatton, had an infatuation with fighting MMA.....I'm sure he was working with these MMA fighters on grappling techniques to use against Hatton.....

My goodness.....entire full rounds of pure grappling!:patsch
......when it was happening, I did'nt think that Mayweather was going to be able to keep it up, and would weaken from all the grappling.....

.....looking at it in hindsight, and like I said before, Mayweathers interest in MMA......he more than likely did not tire using those techniques, because he was practicing them in the Gym vs MMA fighters who were providing the schooling.

I guarantee you, JMM is not going to go the route of MMA.....and thankfully so.....he's was born to box!:yep

JMM vs Pac/Hatton is the almost 100%..Only PBF can overtake JMM chance in facing either them..And I dont think PBF will comeback because its too risky for him.....So who ever wins come May2 will most likely face JMM......And oh, Pac and Hatton have already said they will face JMM if PBF won't comeback..:good

JMM's power definitely increased at 135. There's no doubt about that. At 130 he couldn't KO anybody. Then he moved up to 135 and KO'd 2 guys who have never been KO'd in their entire careers. Just like Pac, he carried his weight well.

JMM has always had the power, but what I think is happening is that JMM is being allowed by these lightweights to sit on his punches alot better by bringing the fight to him......
A fighter brings the fight to JMM, and he's going to oblige by countering with conviction.
.....both Casamayor and Diaz felt that since they had been there at lightweight longer, they could bully JMM with aggression or power....
....that I believe opened up the avenues for Marquez to unleach with potency and sit on his punches with his opponent providing some of the power while walking into JMM's shots.

I got the sense that Pacquiao did'nt quite feel that he was superior to JMM in physicaly strenghth, and so you often times saw him run for cover when JMM landed with a clean thudding shot.....
.....that was'nt the case with Casamayor and Diaz imo, and so the opportunity for the KO's came into play.

Yes, I agree with you in that one..They didn't respect Marquez power and they paid for it....When Casa and Diaz were hurt, they just stand in front of Marquez..

Amazing how there was no mention about Casamayor's prev 2 fights prior to JMM and how old is he.

David Diaz is not at Juan Diaz's level but consider the manner of how Pac destroyed him. It was a absolute total domination.

I know a rematch with PBF being a big spectacle, again. Still, I can't see why Hatton would ever take a rematch with Mayweather if he was to win. He can't possibly think he has chance whereas against Marquez, his chances increase greatly and he can add another great name to his resume.

It will all depend after May2..If Hatton beats Pac convincingly, then there's a good reason for him to be confident in beating JMM..But I doubt it would be easy for Hatton..

man, there sure are a lot of hate for pac these days... i count about 7 pac hate threads just in the first page alone of this general forum.

i guess it comes with the territory with being p4p #1 and the best fighter in boxing. fans of his rivals will always try to malign and discredit him so that their favorite boxer can replace him at the top. former p4p #1s like pbf, mosley, bhop and rjj also faced such hate when they were at the top. sad but i guess that's but human nature for ppl to drag someone down when he is at the top. :-(

the possible money floyd could generate could make the rematch more enticing for hatton.

    .......

Can you name these threads, I'm not seeing them.....

......theres always going to be posters from all walks walking into threads and spewing nothing but hate and nothing logically from which they're posting.....

.....but I"m not seeing these threads you talk about that are dedicated to hating Pac.....

Did you count the threads dedicated at spewing hate for JMM?:D;)

Exactly! That fight in Manchester England is a Mega-hit and does more money than the first fight did......especially that if it happens, Hatton would be coming off a victory over Pacquiao and possible JMM, if Hatton choses to fight him before facing Mayweather.
