LEGENDARY trainer Freddie Roach has launched a blistering attack on Floyd Mayweather Snr.

Roach will be in the opposite corner to his fellow American when Manny Pacquiao takes on Ricky Hatton on May 2.

And he insists Mayweather does not deserve any credit for Hatton's revival — or Floyd Jnr's achievements in the ring.

Roach blasted: "What has Floyd Snr achieved? His son's a natural-born fighter!

"His brother Roger trained him anyway, he never trained his son for a world title fight.

"He tells me he's the greatest but what has he done? He trained Oscar De La Hoya after Oscar had won four world titles!

"Ricky is going to be what he has always been against Manny.

"After he gets hit in the first round he will revert to type. Nothing Floyd has taught him will help."

After being released from prison in 1998, Floyd Snr trained his son for two years before the pair had a bitter bust-up.

They have reportedly only recently patched up their differences and Roach reckons the self-proclaimed 'greatest trainer of all time' is simply a legend in his own mind.

He added: "Give the fighters the credit — trainers are overrated.

"We guide our fighters in the right direction but it's up to them to implement the gameplan.

"It's the same with me, Manny makes me look good."

Same with Roach and Manny... It's not like Manny was a nobody

Roach isn't all he's cracked up to be.. he fails with many fighters.

Spoken like a true trainer. Roach may have failed to different fighters, But Manny never failed him.

Yes it's up to the fighters how they execute what has given to them. Anyone can make a gameplan, but executing them is what matter most.

It's like a grunt and a general. General makes orders, but in order to success it. The soldier must do it properly or else it fails.

Why would he be a hypocrite? He accepted the fact that fighters should be given credit...And he accepted that Pac made him look good....Atleast he is humble, while Floyd Sr is full of himself..

Surely he means mayweather jnr as the dude has never even fought in europe or overseas.
Mayweather Jnr will never be a legend for just fighting in his own country.

I think if the fighters are the ones who do all the work.. as he said. Maybe he should just shut the **** up for once and stop tarnishing Pacs good media personality. The guys getting on my tits. He thinks hes the best trainer in the world. His ego is through the ****ing roof he just trying to portray Sr as the villain here.

all Roach is doing is sparring with Mayweather snr, he's the one who started it by slagging Roach off about his credentials.

Watch the video in the link and Roach is actually being very respectful to Hatton, saying he's a great fighter.

Who else speaks this much as trainer? No one. He's full of himself, he craves media attention like 16 year old girl.
