He`s **** on HBO as a commentator and iv never seen him do anything for any boxer thats made me think yeah this guy is a great trainer. Personally i think he`s grossly overrated.

Honestly when i listen to that guy i sometimes think he doesnt know **** all about boxing. He`s been doing this for years and everytime he see`s an entirely diffrent fight than what is actually taking place.

Steward is one of the best trainers! He helped Lennox Lewis and he helped Wladimir Klitschko and other fighters.

Stop talking disrespectful of such a great trainer and person.

Wow...manny Steward is a legendary trainer and has had dozens of Champions under his tutelage. You guys sound like the idiots that don't have a clue what they're talking about. He has forgotten more about boxing than you will ever learn in your lifetime.

    Morons!!

So he trains 2 of the most talented heavies in the history of boxing and that makes him a great trainer? Didnt have much in the bag for Vlad when he fought Corrie Sanders did he? Vlads poor fundamentals saw him torn to shreds in that fight and humiliated. Guess what Manny blamed Vlad. He does this crap every time. He trained Taylor for a while and did the same bull**** when Taylor gave him the boot. And what exactly did he do for Naz? Thats right **** all. The mans overrated.

Manny Steward is a great trainer, he took two fighters with fragile chins and made one great and the other the best Heavyweight in the division today. Manny picked Wlad up after losing to Sanders in 03, and made him champ again in less than 3 years in April of 06. He taught him many defensive skills to protect his weak chin and lack of toughness at the top level, it's just amazing what he did with Wlad, he also applied the same techniques to Lewis after he was decked by McCall in 94.

You must admit he sucks as a commentator. Also I saw no difference in Hamed or Taylor in the fights he trained them for. I'm not so much knocking his training skills but he has got to go as a commentator.

Steward also trained Tommy Hearns. Can't say that wasn't an accomplishment . Mannys a good trainer and has decent insight on HBO. I'd take him over Max Kellerman anyday.

^^Kellerman sounded a lot better this weekend than Steward did. Steward follows the usual HBO bias with Lampley.

He did not train wlad for the sanders fight,,,,his first fight was the brewster fight which wlad lost,,,,He brought out alot more of wlads defensive skills, which was the reason he won the peters fight,,,as for taylor, he did the guy a favor, he gave him a speach in the corner in his spinks fight, that pretty much a tuff love speach, fight an stop acting like a *****,,,an guess what he was right, he let a money maker in tayor go,,, instead of holding on to a guy who was not sure if he wanted to fight anymore, an came into a fight half ass each time,,,Pavlik can thank his fame on that one.......look floyd mayweather sr. he kept pumping DLH with BS each time he loss, just so he would make him more money,,that what you call a shity trainer.........an he is a very good cometator, i thought diaz looked the stronger till that last round, an so did one of the judges, so did the punch stats.....

Most ex-boxers or trainers do. He didn't make a name for himself by doing commentary. Plus, when a trainer or athlete period is trying to hold his own next to someone who excels at it, like Lamps, Albert, or Tessitore, you're not going to sound very professional.

think of the list of Boxer/Commentators that HBO has had...they all sound like crap compared to Lamps:

    Roy Jones
    George Foreman
    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Lennox Lewis

    Showtime:
Bobby Chaz...this is why Showtime doesn't use athlete/trainers any longer

    They all sound like morons.

But, they deserve the respect of morons like you because they have all had the guts, heart, courage, and determination to lace 'em up in the ring for your entertainment!!

    Moron!!

Steward vowed that his boy Johnathon Banks will KO Adamek in Newark. Steward "missed" the plane and wasn't in Banks corner. Insted he was at Marquez - Diaz fight. Banks lost by TKO in 8.
