Not strictly boxing training, just wondering if any of you have ever broken your humerus and how you went about building the arm back up. I can feel how weak it is after less than 2 weeks in a cast!
Arm wrestling in The Mill! Hadn't long started, I was actually winning and then there was the most almighty popping sound and everyone thought the table had broke. I didn't know what happened initially but kind of gradually lost control of my arm. Alcohol numbed the pain...
That's happened to me, I was arm wrestling in school when I was about 15 and I dislocated my elbow and chipped the bone, I was in plaster for 6 weeks, but I'd rather do what I did than break the humerus - that sounds nasty.
i broke mine and ****ed up my radial nerve too.it took ages to get full feeling back in my fingers.i was off work for 5 months but the day i went back i boxed that same night.the bad news was/is that it wasn't set properly so its got a bend in it. it looks like i've got a good bicep and shite tricep. that was 31 years ago and it has never given me any trouble. good luck
The reason the Dr didn't want to operate was exactly that - to avoid the risk of nerve damage. It looked ok in the initial xray after the cast so he said he'd sooner wait and see. Think there'll be a slight kink in mine but not much. It's nice to hear about a full recovery even with nerve damage though. Cheers!
Can't bend my elbow much so I'll only be able to throw hayemakers. Thanks though, I'll give it a shot. :thumbsup
