Most Un-Helpful Trainer

  1. 1. Norman Stone- I think Ruiz fired him, the guy was a ****ing Vietnam Vetran, and apparently the War ****ed his head up, the guy was always profane, and wanting to fight somebody over stupid ****, a heart attack waiting to happen..
2.Yoel Judah- he screams in the corner and you can't even understand what he's saying:patsch,, he's a idiot..
    3. Mcgirt- horrible communication skills gimme the jab baby, baby this baby that, he should have at least let Malliggini finish his fight with Hatton..

I agree...Oscar could have had Mayweather Sr. in his corner and he still would have got his ass handed to him (just my opinion) Oscar just isnt the same anymore.

    Kessler's trainer.

    After round 4 (against Calzaghe):
"What are you doing? Why is this even close? Go out and knock him out right now
    After round 5:
"Winning the rounds is not good enough Mikkel - you HAVE TO knock him out!"

But Loew and the others are also good choices.

Gotta go with Joel. That guy doesn't "train" fighters. He just yells at them.

I don't think McGirt is that bad. He just trains fighters who aren't the best that always seem to end up fighting top tier guys. When he was training Milkdud, he would say, "Talk to me Antonio, what's wrong baby?" Who calls Tarver "Antonio". His real name is Milkdud.

Of course, who can forget Leow's ultimate exposure in the Hopkins fight. "Double the jab" X 12.

Dont forget about other Buddy lines....

    "Touch em downstairs!"
    "Go to the body baby!"
    "I'm pulling the plug."

The perfect gameplan wouldn't have helped him for **** in that fight. It's a trainer's job to help make up a gameplan for his fighter, but it's the fighter's job to execute that gameplan and obviously Oscar didn't have anything left in him to impose that plan on Pacquiao. De La Hoya's losss was on De La Hoya, not on Nacho.

Well, what you're talking about here isn't men who are necessarily bad trainers, but bad cornermen. Some trainers are just likee that, they may or may not be good trainers in the gym, but as far as giving specific instructions in the ring they're basically crap.

They're are a lot of unheralded good cornermen who don't get the recognition such as Teddy Atlas who gives a lot of very specific technical advice for his fighters in between rounds. Or someone like Manny Steward who has had to basically drag Wlad across the finish line at times in certain fights. Being a great trainer is fine, but being a great cornerman is a key attribute to have in the heat of battle to get your fighter the best possible chance to win in there.

Trinidad snr or Mcgirt. Telling Gatti to use the "jab" against PBF... if the jab is your best hope against PBF, why the bloody hell did you come to the fight?

I agree. Kessler's trainer was completely useless.

    "Just hit him."
    "Hit him hard."
    "Don't give him any breaks."

It was like a broken record.
