Exactly.....both JMM and Pac are now seeking fights at 140 lbs against much bigger fighters......

.....a loss by both to Ricky Hatton would not effect their standing as greats.

 

divac just because JMM has more left at this time (probably due to a less brawling stlye though thats not a complaint ive always liked his style) does not mean he's better than barrera and Morales. Same situation with B-Hop and RJJ (though it could be argued either way for who is the better).

Why so much negativity. Obviously Pac na Marquez both have great resumes. They are exceptional fighter that are like bound together. Marquez is going to chase Pac to the end of the world and we can say that Pac is pulling him up.

You should add Manuel Medina to Marquez resume.

 

Marquez does'nt all and out brawl, but he fights, and he's always fought.....
This guy is just as gifted technically as Pernell Whitaker and Bernard Hopkins.....but he one up's those guys imo in excitement, because he never shy's away from a fistic exchange when he see's the creese to shoot a shot.

Marquez is always willing to fight 3 minutes of every round, and I find it laughable that so called purist who would call someone like Bernard Hopkins better, would point to Marquez having less than a stellar defense.

Let me tell you guys something.....a fighter that is active and throwing meaninful effective punches in a ring, is going to get hit back a few times by a good fighter.

JMM really has a guage on when to pour it on, and when to back off a bit......
.....I really do like watching him alot better than a safety first fighter like Hopkins, or worst, Pernell Whitaker.
....and the reason I'm saying this, is that I've found that some of the people that appreciate pure skill, have found ways to criticize Marquez on his defense.

To that I say, what the hell is good defense, when you're not confident in yourself to let your hands go and take advantage of the fact you can play defense if it got hot and heavy.
Thats JMM, rewatch the Juan Diaz fight and see that when Diaz lands a heavy shot or two.....Marquez is in the eye of the storm ducking and slipping, his eyes wide open looking for the creese to unleach.

 

To be fair...some of the wins mentioned in the other resumes are about as weak as the others...Marquez's only wins worth noting are his last three...The rest are just as :rofl:rofl as Saskul and so forth...in which case Barrera and Morales are miles and leagues above anything Marquez has faced besides Pacman himself thus far...so keep the criticisms to a minimum

Hussein IS a good win...he gave Arce about all he can handle and that was a career highlight for him. Pacman made him his *****. The others are decent wins

kid, there is a lot of names on marquez's resume that you dont even know about...i know this cause of the lack of knowledge you've showed in the past....

Marquez to me is a lot like hopkins. Not so great resume early on but more than makes up for it for what he did later in his career. Also in that he lost some close fights and has never been owned.
