I have it on excellent authority that Joan Guzman has been ruled inelligible to participate in the fight for the IBF vacant title. The administrative suspension from Mississippi is still in effect, thus the IBF had to remove him and will go down the rankings to the next available contender.

There's plenty I could say, but I think I'll just sit here and smile. lol

    Good! :yep

I was already questioning why he should be fighting for a title. His name just popped out of the ratings.

I think I hate Guzman more than any boxer, living, dead, imagined or dead. I wish he was dead...no, I don't really. I wish he he lost his voice.

Good. If Campbell lost his belts to the scales. Guzman shouldn't be able to fight for them after he couldn't make weight.

Angulo surely has to be in the mix...Though I think he did just lose, at another weight however..not sure what happens there.

Thats not accurate. Here are the IBF rankings. They have Romanov approved, and will work their way down the rankings for his opponent.

    1. Ali Funeka (lost on 2-14, inelligible)
    2. NOT RATED
    3. Juan Diaz (unavailable)
    4. Fernando Angulo (lost on 2-14, inelligible)
    5. Julio Diaz (unavailable)
    6. Anthony Peterson (injured)
    7. Joan Guzman (inelligible - suspension)
    8. Zahir Raheem (inelligible -coming off ko loss)

Cant you still fight for a title even coming off one loss onepuch?

I think the WBA says you can, as long as you arent coming off 2 on the trot..Is the IBF different?

In my understanding of the IBF rules, you cannot fight for the title, or for the #1 mandatory position coming off a loss. We ran into this back when Nate fought Matt Zegan for the #1 spot. He could not earn the "mandatory" designation, as he was coming off the Hlatshwayo loss, and had to fight another eliminator with Quiles to become the mandatory to Diaz.

It can be for the #1 (just like Nate-Zegan was), but Andrade will not be considered the "mandatory" unless he fights another eliminator. He could however wait it out, and when the mando is eventually ordered, he would be the top ranked available contender.
