Is the "most feared man" in boxing, Paul Williams, ducking the champ?

It might be old news to some......

Hey Paul, we read here in Europe that you want to squeeze out of a fight against me," said WBO super welterweight champion Sergiy Dzinziruk. "Apparently you're looking for an opponent and planning other fights because you're afraid to go against me. You don't need to look left or right look, the right way to look is the way to the champion – and that is me! There can only be one meaningful fight and that's Sergiy Dzinziruk vs. Paul Williams. I'm the world champion and you're only an interim champ. I'm ready to face you anytime and defend the REAL WBO belt in the ring!"

"Sergiy is one of our best fighters, the world's best boxer at super welterweight and is unbeaten," added Universum promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl. "We want that he can finally show his skills in the United States."

"So once more clearly - I am ready," concluded Dzinziruk. "There can be only one WBO world champion at super welterweight and that's me!"

Yes this news is quite dated. Anyways, PTP is fighting Winky at 160 and that hardly qualifies as ducking Dzinziruk.

No disrepect to the Winky fans...but he fights boring. I am still going to watch the fight because I love boxing :bbb but I hope after Winky, Paul goes after Dzinziruk and stops saying that everyone is ducking him.

Dzinziruk vs. Williams should be an awsome fight and height won't be an issue as Dzinziruk is 6ft tall too.

    Doesn't guarantee that he's shot.

Winky's style makes him a tough adversary for anyone. I do expect PTP to come away of that fight with a win but I wouldn't be shocked if Winky pulled it off. And Winky is getting up there in age but he hasn't been in too many wars mainly because he's so defensive so his age doesn't penalize him as it would for most others in my estimation.

If you really love boxing, you don't think Winky is boring.

Good pt. However Winky is very dangerous and the fight is at 160. PTP is doing P4P shiznit.

but it do guarantee he ain't fresh, it also doesn't guarantee he aint shot, where as with Dzinziruk you wouldn't have to worry about that problem

regardless of how good you are, fighters take tuneups for a reason, i mean ****, not fighting in 6months is a long time and could effect your performance....we're talkin about 2 years here, it's obvious who the harder fight would be, a prime undefeated 154lber who's arguably the best in his division, or a future HOF'er (imo) who ain't been in the ring in 2 years and is coming off a loss, c'mon now it's pretty clear ain't it?

no matter how good Winky used to be, thats in the past, he ain't fought in so long, theres no telling how good he is now, not to mention like was said earlier, Sergiy's also a pretty big guy, and though Winky's fought at the higher weights, he's not that tall

so "P4P ****" is taking a fight with a guy who's past it and ain't fought in 2years over taking a fight with a guy who's undefeated and in his prime?, oh ok, alright then

i mean, real talk, there's nothing wrong with chasing pay days every now and then, this a job, and fighters gotta eat but, lets not try and pretend that Winky's a tougher fight then Dzinziruk at this point, cuzz it ain't

Winky might not be very tall but he is strong even at 160 lbs. He's able to consistently back up his opponents behind a fierce jab and a masterful guard. These type of attributes usually don't deteriorate as fast as speed and footwork. I think Winky will be a live opponent and push PTP to the limit. He also is a south paw and Quintana troubled him with constantly with his left in their first fight.

that's true but, Sergiy's a southpaw too, and he's also a very technically refined boxer, plus pop and speed, like i said no matter how u look at it, Dzinziruk's the tougher fight, cuzz we're not even sure if Winky's there to get another pay check or if he's really trying to win, those are questions over a fighters head when he aint fought in that long

PTP is also fighting for exposure right now. He needs to elevate his name if he's to become a star like many experts think he might be (Kellerman). A fight against Dzinziruk lasks luster because not many know of him here in the states. I'd be surprised if HBO even accepted a PTP fight against him.
