I'm just saying that even the best fans can have their own biases, whatever anybody says to them.

If that's what they believe, it'll be hard for anybody to change their beliefs.

LA and Boston fans are some of the most passionate and biased fans in the NBA, back in the 80's.

That doesnt make them bad fans, both.

Same as some of the most rabid Pacquiao and Marquez fans.

I'm sure that when the featherweight big 4 all retires, there will be less emotional discussion among fans of these guys and they will be talked about in reverence and respect, like the big 4 of the 1980s.

It's interesting how the TS early this year tried to persuade members of ESB not to make premature judgment (based on second hand evidences and speculations) on Margarito not 'til the commission investigating the whole fiasco finishes its work and hands a verdict. Commendable, moral and prudent act if you are to ask me. And yet here he is starting a thread about an article posted in a website notorious for sensationalism, that supposedly proves Roach contradicting himself and trying to sell this article to us as if it's credible let alone gospel truth.

Gee, Divac, you surely are consistent!:deal

You are absolutely right..Anthony wont write any ficticious articles..Its all facts...he even wrote this:

Roach has a point because can you imagine how Pacquiao would have demolished “Baby Bull” Diaz? Diaz is fortunate that Pacman never came down to Houston to crush him worse than Marquez was able to.

I absolutely agree with you divac about this writer...:good:good:good

Exactly, the guy was'nt showing bias toward one side or the other, and he's quoting Roach in the article.....

I dont see where Bula is coming from when he's unbelieving that Roach took that kind of attitude toward expressing his thoughts on JMM-Diaz.

No, I'm not saying that Roach absolutely could not say those things. He's a talkative guy, and it's not impossible for him to say those words. Totally possible.

I'm just saying that I dont trust that site with all my heart. :yep

If the ESB frontpage reported it, or one of the 3 or so other major boxing sites, I would believe the story more easily.

I think the reason why many people from both sides sometimes get overly rough or overly critical towards the other side, is because these boxers careers are still on going, and history is being written before our very eyes. We dont know yet what will happen in the coming months, we dont know who will end up on top when all is said and done.

The fighters are still jockeying for better position in the ATG and head to head ratings, nothing is settled yet.

That's why we often see inflammatory threads from both sides sometimes. There's still a lot of emotion.

But once their careers are over, people can more objectively assess these fighters careers without using too much trashtalking and emotion and stuff.

i've read a lot of articles of this very same writer at that website. marley and him have the same provocative style of writing. they both tend to exaggerate and draw their very own inferences to illicit strong interest and reactions from their readers. that site is more of a blog about boxing rather than a boxing news site. i take everything written on that site w/ a grain of salt.

I believe that Roach is just gunshy at saying what he really thinks of JMM the fighter.
I've noticed that he does'nt like to say anything thats too complimentary of him, and it likely stems from the fact that his fighter may have to step up to the plate with JMM again.....

Remember how Roach got verbal with Erik Morales in Pac's rematch and third fight with him......
I think it stemmed from the fact that he was confident that Pacquiao could handle that version of Morales.....

....but he does'nt quite speak in the same tone when it comes to estimating JMM.

I think that its the deep down respect that Roach has for JMM, that he does'nt want the world and much less Manny Pacquiao know what he really and truly feels about JMM the fighter.

You're absolutely correct my friend, when this is all said and done and the mini-fab four is good and retired......
.....its going to be interesting to hear from Roach his true thoughts on JMM the fighter.

Roach through Pac's sucess through his guidance of course.....has let it get to his head a little bit.....

....but I believe Roach's an honest good man that when this is all over he'll have an honest assesment on the Pac-JMM rivalry.

Odd for him to say that but, There is no need for the third fight with all the other fight possibilities.

I've never heard him say anything really bad about JMM, the master counterpuncher, since before Pac and JMM fought.

Sure he's said some strong words against Nacho, and it's a back and forth thing, but Roach has always said that JMM's the best counterpuncher in boxing, since before Manny and JMM fought.

Back in 2004, training for JMM-Pac I, he said they'll probably have a tougher fight than Pac-MAB I, and they know how good Marquez is, even if he's not as famous as MAB and EM.

And he said that EM is probably gonna be an easier fight than JMM, this was before Pac-EM I.

I thought that was a ballsy thing to say, when the Pac-EM I fight was just around the corner. :yep

So, I know that he thinks highly of JMM. It's just the people surrounding this rivalry that's making it look worse than it actually is.

The Nacho thing with Roach and Roach's dislike of him, is something I believe Roach may have created and wanted to create out of his head to put a spark in himself and drive himself......because he could'nt honestly and consciously disrespect JMM the fighter, he picked on any little thing that could be misconstrued and that person was Nacho......

Roach did the same to DLH by saying he could'nt pull the trigger....hoping to anger DLH to throw more verbal jibes at him......so that in turn that would spark a fire and drive himself to drive Manny......

Maybe I'm reading more to this than I should......but its funny how the human psyche can work.

Yeah, I'm tired of the back and forth bullshitting from both sides, sometimes.

Too much negative vibes and trash talkng everytime the fans of both sides see each other.

Maybe I'm gonna have a vacation break from general forum soon. :yep
