Stupid.Guzman is an awesome fighter and should get a title shot, especially after winning a title eliminator.
Hypocracy!! You should have sent Guzman a Thank You card for not sending Nate into retirement, which he certainly would have if they fought, Campbell isn't on Guzzy's level. This way Nate makes more money by maskerading as the world class fighter he isn't and maybe gets chance to be a punching bag against Hatton or Pacman.
That's not true at all. Guzman was dehydrated from trying to make weight. He was in no condition to fight according to the doctors. The doctors pulled the plug. Man, you talk more shite than Nate.atsch
He won a WBA title eliminator, not an IBF eliminator. Paulus Moses holds the WBA regular belt, and JMM now holds the WBA super belt. It would probably be a year before Guzman gets a shot at one of them, unless Marquez vacates quickly, in which case he could make a match against Moses, although the fight would probably end up being in South Africa or Japan.
IIRC, with the symptoms he was showing, he was trying to use too many illegal diuretics anyway. You don't vomit blood from trying to lose weight unless you're doing something very sketchy to go along with it. I don't think there's any question that the way Guzman missed weight was much worse than the way Campbell missed weight.
If memory serves Guzman had to be hospitalized with dehydration and was deemed unfit to fight by the doctors. Are you really going to hold that against him?
Revisionist history. I was there. Guzman was CLEARED to fight by the commission doctor, and chose not to, hence the indefinite suspension. He only went to the hospital because rehydrating via IV is quicker than just drinking fluids.
guzman is ranked in the top 10 by all 4 abc belts. he is paul moses mandotary, and if he wins that fight he becomes WBA champion and JMM's mando. he has many options available and will soon unify the lightweight division.
not quite. The WBA is supposedly bouncing him from their rankings because he did not fullfill his FedeLatin requirements.
bigbone, thunder, and kid cuba im glad you guys dont let this onepunch feed you bull**** .well let me make thing clear because i was there in mississippi when showtime did a interview with DR.JIMMY LEWIS the commission doctor who stated that guzman was unfit to fight because of dehydration and did not give him permission to go ahead with the fight and in another interview on a boxing website it have the hospital number 228-388-6711 that stated that guzman came in vomiting blood and for dehydration and was told to stay away from any physical activity for 2 month so the bull**** he telling you guy about nate "do no wrong"campbell dont believe the **** nate is unprofessional as a champion dont need to sugarcoat **** he **** up and it real unprofessional to talk about another fighter when your fighter did the same thing....:-(
dont get me wrong i like nate as a fighter but i feel it is very unprofessional as a champion to not make weight and like i said before i respect all fighter and i dont talk bad about none of them because they risk there life everytime you go in that ring and it not a easy task...
its not exactly the same thing though. guzman was moving up from featherweight for the fight of his life! nates been fighting at lightweight for years and understandibly couldnt cut it due to age, etc.
blah, blah, blah.... If anyone wishes to independantly verify whether or not Guzman weas cleared to fight by the commission doctor, they can just call the Mississippi commission directly at 601-373-9361, and ask for Jon Lewis or Patrick Turner. If the doctor HAD in fact NOT cleared Guzman, he would only have been given a 15 day or a 30 day suspension. But since the doctor DID clear him and Guzman still chose not to fight, he was given an indefinite suspension, which is why he was just bounced from the IBF title fight. No need to believe me, when you can hear it straight from the commission.
true story. and no matter what condition he was in @ fightnight, nate would ****ed him up reguardless. smart move guzman :thumbsup
if his age was a factor why didnt he move up in weight a long time ago why lie to HBO and inform them that everything was ok with the weight ???you dont think that funeka should have been compensated ? funeka did not sign a bout agreement to fight at 138lb so it wrong point blank.....
