One of the conditions into signing with Arena Boxing was that Felix Diaz, dominican gold medalist from the Olympics had to have famed cuban trainer, Pedro Luis Diaz in his corner. Feliz Diaz refused to sign the contract with Arena if Pedro Luis Diaz was not included. Diaz believes Pedro is the reason for his success in the Olympics and he couldn't see fighting pro without him. Pedro Luis Diaz has been the cuban trainer for the very successful cuban national team for the past 15 years. Pedro is honored to train Felix saying he is a pleasure to train because he is such a good listener and worker. Pedro Luis Diaz also said Felix Diaz will be a world champion under his command.

Isn't that the same famed Cuban trainer who Oner canned when Gamboa got KDed a while back?

    Err...nope.

This Granny Diaz never trained any pro of contention but is a famed amateur coach - some fresh that's old, maybe he can also get under Solis skin...

Nice. I wonder when is Arena going to stage that press conference announcing the latest signings. Rigondeaux, who said he was in training during his banishment in Cuba, needs to start kicking ass as soon as possible.

So just to clarify it: Diaz was a coach in the Cuban Olympic team for 15 years and after that he started working as a coach in other countries. Right?

So Diaz is a defected Cuban coach as of now than, right? Because it is not allowed to start working for yourself as a coach (just like it's not for a boxer).

Please correct me if you think I'm wrong.
