    Morales should stay retired.

My mind is split in 2.....

Morales is my favourite fighter & it kills me that he is finished at an age were he should still be top 5 p4p elite level & I would absolutely love it if he looked like the old Erik & scored a win over a JMM or even a MAB....

The flip side to this is...... I dont see how it is humanly possible, he has looked severely worn out since the Raheem fight & I honestly think it would be borderline miraculous if Morales managed a victory over a fighter as good as Marquez at this stage.

I`ll always back Morales vs any fighter ever, I love the guy but he is too brave for his own good, Marquez might win this one brutally.

Morales beat Diaz on my scorecard too but consider how prime Morales would have done vs Diaz.... look what prime Pac DID do to Diaz & look how the `equally shot` Barrera did vs both JMM & Pac compared to how Morales did in his last Pac fight.

Even taking the weight trouble of making 130 into account, Erik looked terrible.
He only lasted/beat Diaz because Diaz is a real **** fighter.

Barrera has way more left in the tank than Morales.... I wish it wasnt true but it is.

I agree with the poster that said this fight would resemble Chacon-Limon 4.

Don't do it, Erik. We love you, but don't do it.

Chacon-Limon IV was competitive this would be a one sided slaughter.

He's a war torn fighter but he isn't shot. Past it but not shot.. I thought he beat David Diaz and got jobbed big time. He did get hit alot but he always got hit alot so that's no indication of him being shot. This long layoff might have been a good thing for him. Maybe he can come back rejuvenated but he still isn't going to beat Marquez. MArquez is like a fine wine and his kinda hitting his second prime. Morales fights one way more times than not and we know he's not going to box. He's gonna bring it and give marquez plenty of counter punching opportunities.

Morales gets stopped. It would be more brutal than the pacman fight.

I was just going to post the samething as far as the layoff and coming back rejuvenated. If he comes back, he should take a couple of tune-ups to see if he still has it. Eric did mention it once before that others step away for a minute and returned so why can he.

Morales in my favourite fighter of this generation and he represents everything that I love about boxing. This fight will not happen. Marquez is too much of a class act to take this fight. Morales would never make LW now anyway. It’s beyond belief that he could possibly win.

El Terrible you have nothing to prove!

The fact that he went to a decision at all against David Diaz just proves how shot he is. Erik is done. If he decides to get back in the ring I'd rather see him in with some light-punching cutie so he doesn't get hurt. Maybe if he loses a couple decisions to lesser guys he'll have had enough.

Erik is way more shot than Marco. I think. We'll find out for sure in the Khan fight.

Morales is nuts if he's seriously considering this. Based on styles I think JMM would have given Morales a boxing lesson even in their primes.. right now JMM would basically smash and destroy Morales who doesn't have much left these days. Stay retired Morales and fade into bolivian along with Mike tyson.
