When Floyd won the title from Baldomir Miguel Cotto hadn't even fought at WW yet.. Paul Williams fought on the undercard of the Mayweather-Baldomir fight against Santos Pakau and was only a prospect Shane Mosley could have taken a fight with Floyd but he said he didn't wanna fight Floyd cuz he had a toothache and a vacation to take Antonio Margarito wasn't known by any of my friends who don't really pay attention to boxing other than major events..He brought nothing to the table. Carlos Quintana wasn't much though he was undefeated any smart fan knows he wasn't in the same league as Floyd Andre Berto was hardly known and was something like 15-0 at the time NONE OF EM ARE WHAT THEY ARE TODAY U IS RIGHT FO SHO!!!!
even if pac looks good against hatton he would face him, pac is a small guy and a former flyweight. It would be a walk in the park for a fighter the caliber of floyd and IMO a pac-floyd fight can guarantee him 20 mil especially if pac beats hatton it would be such a massive fight. And about margo, like i said he is inconsistent and doesn't have skills people don't want that and people pay to see winners fight each other thats why we got pac-floyd on the clock next
If MOSLEY woulda accepted to fight (and mosley is a much better fighter than tony) Floyd than you still woulda said he ducked Tonyatsch
Pac MAY be able to breing the money, but do you think Pac would accept a deal where Floyd gets most of it? Wrong again. People pay to see exciting fights. It's fans like you who put TOO much emphasis on being unbeaten. And when Arum FIRST tried to make Margarito - Mayweather happen, Margarito WAS on a winning streak. And had kept his belt LONGER then anyone else in the division (there goes your theory....), and lastly, was offered MORE MONEY then Floyd had evern gotten at the time.
Clearly you can understnad that at the time nobody knew that he was cheating. He still may not have been cheating beck then but the point is that at that particulr time most boxing fans would acknowledge that he was a better fighter than Baldomir was. This goes back to the RJJ example. He didn't fight the best HW's so there no reason to proclaim that he was the best and Mayweather never fought the best WW's so there's no reason to claim he's the best.
Sorry *******, I would not have said that. I would have been happy. But hey, keep using that line, since you fanboys LOVE to predict what others might say and then act as if it's true.
Good post. But hey, PBF was out for the money, and on top of that he was the lineal champ. He must have been that good. And honestly H2H at the time, he woulda beat those dudes IMO
of course pac will also get a lot of money, but floyd gets more. Plus pac really isn't greedy he just wants to make those negotations so he gets more than the deal, in other words he's just being smart just like floyd is. And i ain't wrong, look at who people pay to see and you can see that with PPVs. DLH-floyd,DLH-pac,hatton-floyd,pac-marquez,trinidad-hopkins. It ain't all about excitement, its a combination of skill level, name or popularity, and the level type of fight do you think you'd get a lot of people to see soto-katsidis, or margo-gatti all exciting fighters as you would put but no people pay MORE to see them winners:deal
"For me to fight PBF, I need 10 million dollars guaranteed. I'm Sugar Shane Mosley. So what if he's 2 weight divisions lower than me, I still need 10 million. But man, my tooth hurts, and I need a vacation, I'm trying to spend time with my family." "I feel you Shane. Me, I need 10 million guaranteed too. But my team says I need another year and a half to be ready to fight Mayweather."
