He said "i'm not going to worry about what he's got" Now with that attitude we know why he got KTFO by Prescott.
i enjoy watching amir khan in sparring. But i like it much better when he's doing the chicken dance in the ring.
I think his fights are exciting against the punch friendly opponents that warren picks. barerra is hand picked too. but they've hit that stage in his career that khan has to start closing up the huge odd gap. every1 he has fought until this point was a 8/1 underdog at best. if barerra hurts khan dont get me mistaken, he will finish khan. but they take into consideration barerras age, height, reach, weight, style and speed and compare it against khans? theres way more chance that khan would win.
i dont think bararra will have to much trouble with khan its only 2 years on from the JMM fight and barrera didnt look to bad on that night alot of people say barrera wont have power at lightweight but dont forget he had JMM down and hes the top lightweight by far today
There are three reasons I don't like him: 1. He's fought a bunch of rejects, already lost to one, and thinks it's ok to air his **** fights on PPV for up to £20 a pop. That's cheeky in my book; stabbing your fans in the back and feeding them some legless cretin as an opponent to get blown away in 2 rounds isn't enough to be charging big bucks. 2. The British press grovel at his arse, and he laps it up. In a way it's not his fault, but I hate the way he's over-promoted and over-hyped. Until he achieves a convincing victory against a convincing opponent, stop acting like he's on the top level. 3. He's dodged decent British fighters like Murray and Thaxton to fight the internationally renowned acts such as ... Oisin ***an. That's bollocks.
ive just seem MAB training on sky he looks pretty good really fast deffo dosnt look like hes ready to be a stepping stone
He probably doesn't have that much say in the matter with Frank in control. Like you say, not his fault! I agree with the avoiding british fighters, but when you consider your second point and that Frank almost certainly knew about Amir's weak chin it seems sensible to not risk totally ruining his career by losing to a less heralded British fighter...he would then be branded as not even the best in the UK...nevermind anywhere else! The Oisin ***an fight should be forgiven as it was his first fight after a first round KO! Oisin did actually go the distance in a close fight with Spadafora a couple of years ago so he's not bad...just tailor made for Khan!
Christ, the man did more for boxing than any other amateur since Oscar de la hoya. he was pretty much the star of 2004 Olympics. he has his flaws, his chin will clearly hold him back, but he's done loads for British boxing and the world amateur game. cut him a little slack.
by star, by the way, i mean in pretty much any sport. he virtually had Thorpe out of there for coverage.
