He is a likeable guy. Educated, personable. One of the nicest guys to meet in person. A humanitarian. But, people still criticize him. Is it because he's from Europe? Or because he is the recognized #1 heavyweight in the world? What is it? One thing I love about Wlad is that he is everything a heavyweight champion should be. Plus, he likes knocking people out. Wlad, was quoted in Golf Weekly, "Anybody who stands in front of me is going to get knocked out." Just look at his record. He is going to fight Haye in June. Haye is considered by many to be a serious threat to Wlad's throne. Yet, people still criticize Wlad for facing Haye. I just don't get it.:bart

I think it's because the HW division is currently as weak as it has ever been.

Wlad is the Champion so he gets to be the focal point for many fans dissatisfaction with the division.

He's not the first champion that this has happened to and he wont be the last.

people criticize him on his ring ablities not his personality and level of education. Its a boxing board. I consider his brother to be the best heavyweight right now

I can name a few reasons why. Since the addition of Emanuel Steward in his corner, the majority of his fights have been boring to watch. I think for me personally, it's the fact that when put under pressure or is hit with a decent punch, he either panics or falls repeatedly. To me, I want the best Heavyweight in the world to able to tough it out and take a punch for christ sakes. His personality isn't very enertaining either, I think thats why alot of people are hopping for a Haye win.

    Lol, what the hell? :blood

Anyway, he's the best of a bad bunch, the champion of a weak era. He's very flawed. But that's not actually the reason. It's coz his fans try to make out like he's the heavyweight G.O.A.T. despite what I just mentioned.

I have absolutely no 'hate' for the guy, I feel my view is pretty balanced, but I would still be labelled a 'hater' by his fans.

No more boring than Lennox Lewis's fights. Wlad adopted the LL style from Steward. It's a very effective style but boring as hell to watch.

    great question.:good
    ****ing haters:nut
Its always "cause he is boring" BULL****. OK Iggy was not a great fight but Wlad dominates his fights and because he doesnt KO guys fast enough for some fans, he is boring? Because he doesnt talk **** he is boring? Because he takes his time and breaks down the other fighter and then goes in for the kill he is boring?

I love how some haters say "I hate him because he doesnt get hit" :rofl:rofl Isnt defense part of boxing?...hit the guy and keep from getting hit yourself.
I just dont get it either:-(

A lot of it has to do with the fact that his fan base is so excitable. I'm a big defender of Wlad on here...but damn if his fans don't flip their **** at any sort of comment that can be considered negative.

Umm...for flawed read = chin and infighting. That's flawed.

What stereotypes did I mention in my post? :huh

I don't need to discredit the division, everyone knows it's particularly weak right now, and has been for a while.
