I'd say the dela Hoya win is by far Manny's most significant. I can't understand the "still to come" option, as obviously one needs to be a clairvoyant to see that far ahead. Barrera, Morales and Marquez are all defining wins, but to pass the test take out all the rest and evaluate what the single win does for the fighter. Barrera 1 still makes PacMan worthy of top 10 pound for pound consideration, but no matter what is said, the dela Hoya victory alone elevates Pac to all-time-great discussions. End of story.
i voted still to come because i believe that pac would beat PBF when he comes back..PBF would be favored to win but he is coming from a long lay off and ring rust would be a factor...Pac's victory over PBF would elevate him in equal footing with leonard and sweet pea
i'mma get off topic a bit but.....though i voted for the DLH fight, the Diaz win is still my favorite win though, cuzz it's the 1st time he ever had me in awe, i didn't too much like his earlier fights cuzz he was so dam predictable with his straight left, but he boxed beautifully against Diaz, he both set up and mixed up the straight left brilliantly, it's one my favorite fights to watch for shear performance
Yeah bit that one was more dissapointing to me then anything else, since he was coming offthat big loss I was sure Pac would stop him early The Diaz fight takes it for me, plus the KO was vicous he really just put his stamp on "The New P4P King is Here!", ya know?
It is a shame that people are now dismissing it as a shallow victory, especially in the light of JMM's superb comeback victory against Juan Diaz. Two divisions away from your comfort, against a former P4P boxer, who was expected to steamroll over you, and you made him ****in' quit. That is something. Like the second Morales fight, he made a legend quit.
Two things really, the Barrera fight made the world take notice.. the ODLH fight secured his legacy even though technically it's not really close to his toughest win.
I voted DLH but its hard to say..... Pac burst onto the scene vs prime MAB & won convincingly..... Pac hadnt quite built on the Barrera win as he should have done by drawing & losing to JMM & EM but proved he really did belong in the big league by beating Erik in the 2nd fight tho Erik wasnt in his prime the way MAB was..... I thought JMM won vs Pac.... DLH was his biggest win but he also was not in his prime but with the size difference, this should & likely will be Pac`s most famous victory.
