the ref would make no difference, floyd outclasses ricky everytime and stops him most nights. but cortez has become a ****ing joke, he was poor in this bout. then let hopkins try and slowdance with calzaghe all night and get away with all that fake lowblow garbage, then there was the awful soto-lorenzo incident. so yes i think there people have a point when they say cortez was less than impressive in this bout, but he isn't the reason hatton got his arse kicked. that's solely down to ricky's limitations and floyd's brilliance.
you're joking right? Pushing a guy through the ropes and taking a power shot directly to the back of his head is nothing to you?
Let me ask you something. DO you think that Cortez did a good job in the Hopkins vs Calzage fight or in the Hatton vs Mayweather fight? The 2 performances were pretty much exactly the opposite of one another according to Hatton fans so one of them had to have been good and the other bad, no?
he seemed to go to extremes in both fights. yes a lot of hatton's clinches should be broken, but there were times when he was looking to move in as hatton was coming into range before any punches were exchanged or before and clinches took place. he seemed to go to the complete opposite end of the scale in the zag-b/hop fight. allowing bernard to maul, clinch, headbutt and generally get away with whatever the hell he wanted in close. there were times when it was clear as day, you could see bernard lining calzaghe up and bringing his head down the pipe like he would a right and you're thinking, "how the **** can cortez not see that?" middle ground is a term alien to old joe these days it would appear.
You mean HOLD and HUG if cortez allowed hoilding and hugging it mightve gone to a decision. James toney FIGHTS on the inside, hatton holds and hits, this is illegal. Cortez did exactly as he was supposed to regarding that.
watch it again the punch didn't get close to landing, and how do you push someone through the ropes if they're standing up? you can't mayweather was doing his illegal ducking below the belt routine
This thread is a euro loser circle jerk..... The punch didnt even ****ing land??? If so show us O mighty hattonites.. you whiny dickless ****s..
Regardless of whether or not the punch landed the intention to commit a blatant foul was there. A ref has to take control in that kind of situation.
LOL Look how all the ricky supporters were so excited.. "Ricky is doing it! Wonderland ricky, wonderland!" hahah then in a few rounds their dreams were scattered, along with ricky's jaw and he was put in a wonderland alright...
you said he took a power shot to the head, he didn't, and you get points deducted for fouls not because he intended to.
