..at Spirit Mountain Casino out in Grande Ronde Oregon, outside of Portland.

Roy Jones put the show on and was in attendance. Steve Forbes had an impressive win over Jason Davis who he knocked out cold in the 2nd round.

Kieyon Bussey fought as well, which was unannounced as far as I know, and had an impressive 1st round TKO over a mexican guy from Vegas. He's a talented guy, but looking at his age at boxrec he's older than he looks, he better get fighting as he's already 34.

Roger Cantrell had a great scrap against a local guy, he almost had him out in the 1st round, and then again in the last round, but took a hard earned UD.

Some great fights from some local guys as well. Well put together card, and no duds out of the 6 fights.

Had a good time, and great to see Stevie back on the winning side again. He's still way too small for WW though.. just too short.

Congrats to Stevie. I put "Stevie TKO 9" in one of the fight prediction leagues. I guess he's fresher than I thought.

Very nice, thanks for the heads up.

Always liked Forbes. One of the most consistent B-Level guys around his weight class. Doesn't deserve some of the **** he's had thrown his way.

The guy he fought wasn't a total can, he came former golden gloves winner. Stevie was pumped in front of a hometown crowd and looked strong. I don't think he can do anything at this weight, he's just not big enough.. but it was good to see him get a nice highlight level win... except it wasn't on TV.. but it was a nice KO.

Kieyon Bussy looked damn good for his weight. Very quick and decent power.

didn't even no Forbes was still fighting, but damn if Stevie "Featherfist" Forbes KO'd some1 that kids jaw must of been glass

on another note, what division was this? i think Stevie's still a world class fighter despite getting dominated by DLH and Berto, if he can make 140 he might be able to be a top 10 contender and get himself some good fights

It was at WW. Not a good weight for Stevie.

Dudes like 5'6.. he might say 5'7.. but he's short.

steve is really sitting down on his shots now, billy hearns has pound doing some really nice stuff, i had the honor to spend the last few days being around billy hearns, and in a short time i learned alot from him,
with steve and billy working together pound is going to be a serious threat to anyone at 140 lbs.

and to add - jason davis is no "can" like someone said,
jason is a former golden gloves champ and has tons of amateur expierence
jason did the best he could with the limited professional expierence compared to pound,
jason even taking this fight is a testament to jasons heart.

jason is going to learn from this expierence and only get better,
if jason starts moving his head and punching off the line,
he already has a good chn,
jason took some shots, and even thought it only went 2 rounds, billy had steve go after jason with some sick combos from all kind of anges, isaw billy working the same combos with pound 3 days before the fight,
and the same combos were lethal from the bell.

there were some great undercards and this was the first boxing event at spirit mountain casino,
we all hope there are alot move to come.

Jason didn't move his head, and Stevie saw that Jason couldn't hurt him early, and that Jason was falling for all his feints.

You enjoy the show last night? I thought my boys in Salem got jobbed.. should have at least left with draws.. but oh well.. still were some good fights.

That white boy from Albany surprised the **** out of me.. he has some skills.. the 1st round I thought he was clumsy, but he ain't bad.

i was back in the room with billy and steve so i missed alot of the undercards but from what i did see it was good, the kid from albany fought sammy,
sam a real good dude, i would have stoped the fight alittle earlier, i thought sam was takeing some hard shots, sam has alot of heart and a serious chin, but it was hard to watch sammy getting hit like that.

i have some great shots i took, i was the whits guy in pounds corner so between carrying the bucket, and taking care of pounds rode ect. i got a few shots off with the camera in the ring, ill see if i can upload them, but this is pound, billy and me a few days before the fight at my gym in beaverton

Who was that guy in the ring with Roy and Keiyon, I know he was a fighter.. but didn't get a look at him real good. Looked like Lamont Peterson.. but hard to tell.

Not sure, we were up right after that bout so I dident see I heard the kid was tuff and the fight dident get out of the first round so as the kid was getting into the ring we were already getting ready to "take the walk" I told billy right before that "I come tell you when this ones over" billy said "don't bother" we will start walking right now.....LOL

Yeah, it was a blowout. He didn't come all the way from Pensacola to be in a "real" fight.. that's for damn sure.

Neat thread. Off topic, but this reminds me of a fight that we saw on the undercard for Pavlik/Rubio in Youngstown. I don't belittle any fighters (usually..LOL), but me and Hermit fully agreed we saw a Professional Tomato Can. I can't remember dudes name, but I swear he didn't throw 1 punch!!! and when he went down, it was the most pathetic thing you'd ever seen. He just crumbled, on his own.:verysad

On topic, thanks for reporting. And the stuff from BabyHuey is priceless too.:good

thanks man, here goes the ending flurry pound threw to end the fight in the 2nd
it was a upper cut, left hook right hand that drove Jason back into the ropes,
the straight down the pipe, 10 punch flurry almost drove jason threw the ropes.
but alot of credit to Jason Davis he showed up and did his best.
