I am very dissappointed with julio. kirkland and wofle are dreaming if they think that uncontrolled aggression is going to work against the top guys. Kirkland is a KO waiting to happen.

he just keeps beating these semi-good boxers :rofl

he turned pro in 01, he could've been a champ in 3 years.

yeah but my point is that they have the same style. lets throw punches and forget defense because I am mentally invincible and will never get hurt. that worked real well with diaz.

You know I'm not big on Kirkland either, but I fail to see the similarities between these two. Diaz has a prety good defense, the only one I've seen actually crack through it is JMM, because even with Campbell a lot of what he was landing was being atleast partially blocked.

Juan also has much better handspeed than Kirland, better overall skills, he can actually box behind a jab some, and has beaten much more top opponents than Kirkland has in his young career. Diaz is clearly a world class fighter, it remains to be seen how far Kirkland will go.. so like I said, I don't see the similarities here between the two.

diaz is a very different fighter to kirkland

it does not take much to understand they both have different fighters

    exactly what J.R. said lol

he had to take time off from the ring though due to legal troubles... i'd say he's doing damn good for someone with the obsticals he's had

I think the keys distinctions are Diaz' better defense and Kirkland's one punch knockout power.

HBO needs to schedule a 154 pound doubleheader:

    Vernon Forrest v Sergio Martinez

    James Kirkland v Afredo Anguelo

i've said this long ago...hes a KO waioting to happen. even julio would just throw a jab and follow it with combos kirkland would be stopped in his tracks and get big shots landed on him.

hes very lucky the 154 isnt that great right now.

I think Kirkland will beat Angulo. Kirkland is no Diaz. Of course Diaz has defence. It showed in the Marquez fight, but we are talking about Marquez and he got through. Kirkland needs to work on keeping his hands up. What good is his workrate and power if his hands are going to be by his sides in the mid to late rounds. He is also very wild and careless with some of those punches. His chance of becoming champion is still good if he beats the **** out of you and stops you early. He is in trouble if he cannot hurt you. You can't stop everyone and when that day comes, he is going to be lost and confused.

There are far more differences than similarities between the two.

Differences: Size, style, punching power, punching technique, stance, and it goes on.

Similarities: They both wear boxing gloves.

What do you expect him to do put on a technical masterpiece of handspeed, headmovement, and footwork? Not everyone fights like Floyd Mayweather Jr.
