Nope, but I'm probably going to do an eighth or quarter distance this summer so I'll be following this thread with interest.
I used to play a lot of football but haven't done any real training for the last 4 years. This is because something very strange happened to my body and my mind - basically they just stopped functioning properly, I lost my job, my house and ended up in a mental hospital for 4 nights. Every now and then I feel a little better and plan on doing some training, it normally amounts to **** all as I go for a 2 mile run and end up ill. My aim this time is to build my fitness up so that I can complete an olympic distance triathlon, whether I achieve this is another matter.
Olympic distance is a quarter Iron Man, that should be achievable in not too long a period. I've had my share of mind ****s and my experience with them is that they get even worse if you skip workouts.
I use to work out with people that trained for triathlons but they ended up being a bunch of douche bags. I ditched them for more MMA ****. This was before I started boxing.
:good My initial aim is to build up to 400m swim, 10km Cycle, 2.5km run, I think this is called a super sprint triathlon.
Sprint 1/2 mile swim 10 mile bike 5k run Originally I signed up for this 8 week training clinic just to cross train for boxing. I didn't plan on doing one when I started the training but since I've been at it for 5 weeks, I'm warming up to the idea. There are some fun ones here in the summer so I'll probably end up doing on in August.
