That's a pretty tall hill to climb for anyone. If he actually accomplished that we'd be talkin' about top 5 or so.

I'm not tryin to be a jerkoff or anythin, but this is the first post about Wlad I have seen from you where you aren't bashing the guy.

Firstly, I do think Wlad can be Top 5. I think it will be very difficult though he needs another 10 fights to do so though. All against the best ranked contenders and belt holders.

There are plenty of ATG HWs that have several losses (e.g. Jack Johnson-who was ranked the #1 HW of All-time by The Ring's founder). He lost plenty of times (before his prime, in his prime, and after his prime). He has been starched probably worse than Wlad.

It's not Wlad's fault that there are so many titles. Every fighter here and out is going to have the same problem. To be honest, I think it will be very rare for a HW after Vitali and Wlad retire to grab all the belts.

I agree 100%. He's fighting in quite possibly the weakest era of the HWs so he should dominate accordingly if he wants to cement any kind of legacy. People give Vitali **** for fighting all weak opposition but atleast he dominates them accordingly and stops them.

History won't be very kind to Wladimir Klitschko if he doesn't start winning a little more impressively.

He knocked out 5 from last 7 guys.
He also should give a performance for least 4 rounds coz otherwise tv channels won't be kind with him.
Also BTW his style requires an aggressive opponent in order to get spectacular KO.
Tompson was a tall southpow with pretty solid chin and was Koed clean and i doubt that so many boxers can beet him more impressive.

You do realize that the Ibragimov fight is his only defense to go the distance, right? And only the 2nd decision in the last 9 years?

Wlad's problem hasn't been dominating; he's dominated. He stunk up the joint with Ibragimov, but that's not his real problem (hell, Ali went to UD twice with Joe Bugner!). His problem is just getting the fights against the right guys. I think where history won't be kind is the "mandatory" excuse. Yes, mandatories are a problem, but other guys at other weights make the fights that need to happen, happen. Not all do, but some do; and they have the clout to make some happen.

Was Rahman a mandatory? Coming right after Thompson, I don't think it was... that's the kind of thing history won't be kind about.

He should be clamoring to make the Haye fight happen. Does Haye "deserve" it? Who cares? Does anyone else at HW deserve it who is willing to get in the ring with him? Really, who else would he get "credit" for fighting? Who else is calling him out? It's opportunities like that that can't be passed up.

This is the only thing I can think of, Wlad is relatively young, if he were to hold onto the title for an obsene amount of years, unify the belts after Vitali retires and get some help by some new heavyweights over the next 5-6yrs being regarded as ALOT better than those of today and beating some of those.

I'm about the last guy you'd ever see defending Wlad but you can't fault him for the Rahman fight, who else was he going to fight after Povetkin went down to injury. Valuev already had the Holyfield fight in December, Chagaev was out from injury, Arreola who isnt ready anyways had just fought aat the end of NOvember, Tony Thompson sure didnt deserve a rematch, Sam Peter had just been destroyed by Vitali, and James Toney (after is performance against Fres) may not have even been as good of an opponent as Rahman.

I never made any stink about lack of KOs. He's looked unimpressive against Ibragimov, Rahman, and Thompson, stoppage or no stoppage. Wladimir has been winning the fights hands down, but can you honestly say he's impressed the hell out of you lately?

And for the record what do you think Vitali would've done if he had fought those three fighters? He certainly wouldn't have spent the whole fight pawing with his left jab.

People won't give a **** if Wlad unifies and chances are he won't anyway. Vitali will hold one belt, Don King will monopolize another and Wlad will be stuck with his two trinkets.

What Wlad needs to be a top 5 HW all time isn't in boxing right now...and the only other viable option is one avenue he's remained steadfast in not pursuing.

He can't do anything to get into the top five or anywhere near it. there simply is not the level of competition available.

I think 37 to 39, but if he does this for someone not to put him there (top 5 ATG), they would just be a complete moron,,,sure this is alot ask, but lewis went till 37 or so, now i think wlad a GREAT boxer, so this might not be as hard as it sounds, i mean the last time i saw wlad not look in control of a fight, was sanders,,,,maybe a round here or a round there he strungled, but the whole fight he domitantes. even the brewster fight he lost, round 5 was suprise, just as much to brewster as was wlad's fans, cause brewster was pummeled before hand. But that proved wlad size dominates, an with his natural skils he knows how to do that, he also a heath nut, which mean, he will probley be in great shape when he is 60, his defense skills are some of the best in the game today, i mean he dosn't take punches offen.,,,,,,This goal is possible, if reached, this would be hard to beat:hi:
