If Kirkland keeps it up, we may see this fight one day. This would be an action packed, high paced slugfest if these 2 ever fought. Who would you guys pick in this fight?

MArgarito is clearly not as effective at 154... depending on how Kirkland progressess, I would pick him...

Depends on the weight, the timing etc etc etc etc

He would still; have that durable chin though and his high work rate would make it interesting.

To my eye, Kirkland looks vulnerable to uppercuts but adjusts his tactics quickly when hit with enough power to keep him honest. At 154, I'd pick Kirkland, but I can't see him going to Mexico for it.

I can't see him destroying Kirkland. I'd like to see how Marg handled a guy with more physical strength than he has and just as much stamina.

He seems like a fighter that would be brave enough to do it.

    Kirkland would batter him.

That's something that sticks out every time I see him fight. Then again most straight ahead plodders are. Margarito is as prone to uppercuts as Kirkland is...so it would be a matter of who lands first in that category.

Kirkland's straight left is pretty weird, like in the Vera fight. Short and lands completely straight on, it's almost like a southpaw left jab.

    This is spot on...
Margarito would neutralise him with body shots.
I think Margarito would have made some adjustments since tasting defeat.
Kirkland is no Mosley so experience would be the factor in this fight.
**** the size, size dont even come into it, Margarito would pound him.
Kirkland is open to a lot of shots.

I never thought I'd say this, but Kirkland is far better defensively than Margarito.

    So does Kirkland.

Margarito couldn't cope with 154 when he faced Santos.

How is he going to handle a much bigger, physically stronger guy who's going to put pressure on him similar to what Shane Mosley did?

That's no big deal because there are literally alot of B- level fighters with better defense than Margo...
