How many of you like this guy? I knew by the marquez and Enoki fight that he had real talents but after this Juarez fight, mannnn Im on the bandwagon.. He has a real nice style. Im guessing a juarez rematch makes the most sense and who'll win?how far u guys think he'll go? Dragon John is no joke.
Good fighter, but he will fall short of the elite. Also, I think B level slicksters would beat him on points. He got hit way too much by Juarez.
hes a good fighter but im not impressed. he will probably make a lot more defenses cause hes in a weak division. that is until Gamboa beats him for the title.
he impressed the hell outta me. At some points in the Rocky fight it looked as if Rocky was being totally outboxed and not on the same level.
Good fighter and definatly one of best in division but i think P4P might be a bit overated. Lets be honest Juarez is a B class fighter who loses to the best but he gave John lots of trouble and while he didn't deserve the result he made it very close while Soto, Marquez and Barrera (2nd time) beat him clearly. Plus he needs to commit more to his punches to make him more exciting.
Yup :good there's not much more u can ask of a fighter.. Chris john is nearly a complete fighter.. He lacks true punching power but it's enough to keep people honest.. WE'll see him more often...
I just hope the fact that he got jobbed against Juarez doesn't mean he'll go running back to Indonesia again and not return to the US in fear of getting jobbed again.
I doubt it.. If anything him and his handlers will push hard for a rematch ... A rematch is the most significant fight for both of them at this time..
Wasn't that impressed. Rocky is just a solid boxer/puncher who doesn't bring any one "great" thing to the table. Not a knock on Rocky, he's not a bad fighter.. he's just a good solid step down from elite.. and I thought he fought on pretty even terms with John. In no way did John dominate that fight like some people like to say.. not at all.
He's good, I like him I don't see him as a boring fighter as some do.... definitely would like to see some more of this guy.
I thought that the small ring size had alot to do with Rocky even being in the fight......but I'm with you.....I was'nt impressed at all by John, and I do believe John is a good fighter. The fight was alot closer on my card than what the consensus opinion has been on this fight..... I'd like to see some of the forum scorecards on this fight..... Here's mine....... Rounds 1,2,,9,11,and 12 for Juarez Rounds 3,4,5,6,7, and 10 for John Round 8 I had even. Basically Juarez had a good start and a good ending, but was clearly and thoroughly outboxed inbetween. 115-114 Chris John, in a close fight that had John in some trouble toward the end. Going into the fight, I thought Juarez would be lucky if he won a couple of rounds, as he fights as if his feet were stuck in mud against a usually slick John. .....I think that what we got to see in this fight with Juarez out of John is that his offensive punching skills are not even close to the 1st tier...... ......being that the fight was fought in a small ring, John was less able to use his feet to manuever without Juarez cutting the ring on him........and he had to rely more on his feints, dipping and sliding, bobbing and weaving, and effective enough punching to make Juarez think twice about coming in........ .....and I think that in most of the attributes I just named other than using his legs to manuever from harms way, John I believe got exposed for alot of his deficiencies outside his leg manueverability. What it really comes down to for me is that John just barely looked better than average in that small ring against Rocky Juarez.
