Top 60-70 Alltime...I think wins over Cervantes, Palomino and a still capable Duran are very good wins that justify at least a top 100 ranking IMO. 3 division champion aswell.

Despite his perceived lack of longevity, he actually was a top fighter for a pretty decent amount of time.

Top 5 Alltime P.R boxers..I would probably have him top 3 behind Ortiz and Gomez without thinking about to much. But I cant see him being outside top 5.

Im not sure where I would have him at welterweight..based on his short reign there he wouldnt be that high.

I think he looked better at both 154 and often at 140 than 147. Interesting as that's the weight most think of him at.

I reckon if you were to base him career just on his 147 form, you probably wouldnt be that impressed.

The Palomino fight I didnt think he looked at his best, even though you would have thought Carlos was the kind of figther that Wilfed would shine against. He was dominated by Leonard, more so than how Hearns dealt with him many would say.
I have not seen the Weston fight but it seems Harold was his Norton.

I had the first Curry fight on tape, he looked pretty awful there.

But one of my favourite fights from him was his fight against Mo Hope at 154, more so because of the way he ended it. He seemed to find his niche at the weight, not suprising considering what a man's body can go through in his final teenage years.

No but it was a close fight and his losses to Hearns and Leonard were impressive losses IMO....his wins over Carlos Palomino, Harold Weston and Maurice Hope...he had a ring radar....I loved his fight with Leonard

I agree. He was obviously talented, and had some very notable achievements in his career, but something just seemed to be missing.
