    Why?

His opposition was very average there, he missed out on fighting the best around at the time and against his best opponant there he wasnt exactly spectacular.

His clearly impressive ability and in the ring dominance brings him up a few notches but I dont think he should be in anyone's top 10.

If you dont know that this thread was started by a boxing know nothing or a Floyd hater or a mixture of both you are ******ed. Floyd is rated at 130 where he had and defended his title against the top guys in the division. Defended his title 8 or 9 times and he was dominate in every single fight.

yea. I said he would have been on there if the competition was there...He was 31-0 with 29 KO's as a lightweight .... His power was good as a WW, It must have been really devastating at 135.

Young guy or guys who havent been watching the sport for long are so enamored of skill sets around here that they fail to see the intangibles that go to be being a great. I ask you to understand that an awsome set of skills do not alone make you a top five fighter in any weight class of all time. Thats what seperates boxing form other spiorts power, chin, heart, stamina...You must realize how may great lightweights there have been, when was Mayweather ever really tested? he retired before those quetsions were ever answered.

H2H, yes he's in the top 5. But as far as accomplishments and resume at 140, sorry but he fails.

Floyd had a lot of trouble with his hands at 135

Yep. & just like other fighters, he just sucked it up and didn't make a big deal out of it.

Except for going on 24/7 to get some "expert" to talk about how tough he was for putting up with it as she put some weird gooey **** on his hands. Whilst Floyd did his best to put on a worried look, no doubt learnt from his stint in the WWE.

Obviously Floyd's hands did trouble him and I give him credit for still being such a good fighter with that, but he often used it as an excuse for a less then stellar or boring performance.

He never used it as an excuse. What are you talking about? Do you really think he was joking about this hand $hit? Do you really think that he would've stopped his attack in a round that he was clearly winning, to run to the opposite side of the ring and take a knee, in doing so automatically lose 2 points in the round, just to make an excuse look good? Do you honestly think he wouldn't have tried to put Baldo away if his hand wasn't in serious pain? Do you seriously think PPV wouldn't went out of their way, waste money & waster 4 minutes air time to show that scene of PBF & DLH talking about how hands get hurt in boxing & the pain they experience? Do you honestly think professional, contracted doctors would risk their job to lie about Mayweathers hands being broke or injusred?

Do you think Im saying that at all?

You acted as though he never made an issue about it, when he clearly did.

Many, many, many fighters throughout history have had hand problems and have truly sucked it up and not made a deal about it.

Did PBF come out and say "I hurt my hand, thats why I couldn't knock him out?" The way the whole hand situation came about was Mechant telling PBF he looked as if he hurt his hand, did he feel it was broke. And then PBF started talking about the hand. Its not like he just started making excuses about the hand. And like I said, he wouldn't have ran to the other side of the ring to take a knee if his hand wasn't hurting that much. He wasn't exaggerating the pain, but when your hand is hurting that much, you are gonna show signs of it.

AT 130 HE IS THE GOAT IMO! AT 135 HE ONLY HAD 4 FIGHTS AND WENT 4-0 1KO..I like Floyd but he isn't the GOAT at lw
