Ones boxing age is measured by the amount of wars one has been in. JMM didn't really start competing at the level he was, with the STYLE he now implements until he was in his early 30's. As for guys like Barrera and Morales, they were fighting in these type of wars at young ages, ESPECIALLY Morales, which is why he was past it at 29 years of age.
Definitely "NO ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE". . . . and no he hasn't been a real wars until recently. Checking his resume Pacquiao; Jaca; MAB; Pacquiao; Casamayor and Diaz are the only wars he has been into. Juarez twice is not even counted because that's not a war . . . that's another technical fight just like the rest.
Nothing suprises me with athletes nowdays.....they all seem leaner and stronger than athletes of the past..... I dont believe Marquez to be juicing however.....he's onlly fighting 9 lbs heavier than what he's boxed at his whole career.

You could easily say the same thing in reverse, i.e. PBF retired with big fights ahead and Calzaghe because he lacked motivation. Bottom line, anyone who retires on top is going to get criticised in the way of why didn't he fight this or that fighter. But it's a hard game and if you're not up for it anymore, it's right to be honest with yourself. These guys owe nobody anything.

It's not a case of anyone shying away. I don't know what these big fights were for Calzaghe, but he had plenty in the three years pre retirement. Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins. I don't think there was anyone else out there who would be any bigger fight than those three, especially now that B-Hop put an end to the Pavlik hype. Dawson maybe,... nobody else. Mayweather, you could maybe argue Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, but are those guys really bigger fights (apart from in the literal sense) than Hatton, Corrales, Hernandez, Manfredy and Castillo? There's always going to be somebody left out there to fight, but the fighter owes it to nobody to go on until he gets beat up if he;s no longer got the motivation.
