Kirkland vs Paul Williams

Not to knock you, but even in the 2nd fight vs Carlos, Carlos was catching him with some good left hooks before he got KO'd

Exactly. I saw it.. like I said, the second fight CQ blindly threw up that same left hook, relying on Paul not countering with the overhand right followed with a stiff left. Paul said before the fight he was gonna take a few punches if he had to get up under him and put some heat on his ass, because he knew Carlos couldn't stand it.

Kirkland ain't even that same type of fighter. He's a pressure fighter, without the workrate and probably chin of Margarito. He has decent speed, but nothing that will be able to outlsick PW like CQ did the first fight.

To me, Kirkland is nothing new to PW. PW is very new for Kirkland and you cant find a guy to sparr with when u gotta fight PW. I got PW by mid TKO or late KO

i cant make a deep explanition right now cuzz i'm bout to eat but uhh..........the summary, since you dont like people mentioning the Quintana fight, watch the Phillips fight again, he was taking shots all night, now realistically, Phillips is a 39 year old who lucked up and got his hands on a title, no one rates him high and ever did for that matter even in his prime, now don't get me wrong Kirkland's no technicain himself his defense ain't much either but, btwn. the 2 he has the faster hands, he's very tough, throws better combinations and he can really bang, besides, i never said i think Kirkland would beat Williams, i said if Williams fights like he did in the Phillips fight and trys to walk Kirkland down he's basically gonna get ate up, but if Williams plays keep away like he did in the Margarito fight he can probabbly win, since Kirkland can't box like Quintana can Williams ain't gotta worry about getting outboxed/countered while he's sling punches of his heels

 

Have we forgotten that Williams was caught by a deep gashing headbutt in Round 1 of that fight? And he commenced to just settle down, hit him with his shots, and fend off the shots Phillips was throwing.

Be for real. Williams may have lost 1 round in that fight. And don't try to downplay Phillips like he was some bum like... like.... like Jennings:yep

 

Aiken you don't think Kirkland can do it with good power, a good chin and hellish physical power?

What the **** are you talking about? Quintana landed TWO clean punches before Williams put him on queers street in the rematch.

Actually, it was 4 clean punches, thats what I'm talking about. Yes PW shut him down, but Carlos still landed some good ones on him.
