Are you gonna agree Khan is world class and a good fighter albeit with a dodgy chin...or are you in typical fashion gonna just say "MAB was old and washed up? Also give your predictions on this thread now!!
For me i'd agree that beating barerra at this point in his career was a good and well needed accomplishment. but before I start comparing his with julian jackson I want him to beat a legitimate light weight and win a version of the world title
Either way, there will be a lot of criticizm whatever happens. And of course A-holes will be all over it. Here are what people gonna say... Scenario 1: MAB wins by KO - Khan lost Khan will be labeled a fluke and the most glass jaw today. And of course there will be people calling MAB superior once again after being shot against and only at Pacquiao. Also it will mean that Barrera didn't really fought a good opposition. Scenario 2: MAB wins by Decision - Khan lost Khan will be able to prove he did train his chin, but still labeled as a fluke prospect. Scenario 3: Khan wins by KO - MAB lost Barrera is shot. end. Scenario 4: Khan wins by Decision - MAB lost Barrera had enough tank to last. Khan did pretty well considering MAB is already shot anyway.
Everyone knows that MAB is old and washed up. My prediction is that Khan will overwhelm old MAB and ref will wave it off in early rounds. Khan TKO2
MAB isnt a LW......MAB is finished.........Khan will stilll be chinny even if he wins, which i think he should....
Since our poll suggest that 68% of the ESB community think MAB will win, 57% voted by knockout, they'll have hard time discrediting a Khan win, if Amir can do it, without getting a good look at their own votes over and over again. Edit: here it is:
I take it this was on the Gen Forum , becasue if you hop over to the Brit Forum you'll see there are only few giving MAB a chance. Barrera is too small and too old , Frank Warren wouldn't be letting Khan anywhere near a still dangerous Barrera.:verysad
Frank Warren is very shrewd in his business dealings.......99 per cent of the time he gets it right for his fighters. Bar the the few mistakes i.e Khan versus Prescott......more times than not his man has always got a huge edge over an opponent.....youth, experience or size. He managed Calazaghe who was/is a very a good fighter perfectly. The only time he took a real risk with him was when he went up against Lacy and that was after years of having held the least significant out of the 4 major belts in one of the most shallow divisions in history (super-middleweight 1997 to 2007). Calazage then took on a few had picks before facing another huge test in Kessler but then Warren and Calzaghe himself knew he was good enough to fight the very best in boxing. Khan is the same.......only he will turn out to be an ok fighter who has physical flaws such as skeltal structure/neck size/ and nervous systems that are unable to deal with a powerful blow the head. Technically he still needs alot of work.......the high points are his speed, reflexes and decent power......along with his long frame for the division which leads to him being a decent fighter. He will beat Barrera but only in name.....this is a Barrera who at 35 is way way to old for a light guy and has been in so many wars and fights that really he represents a normal man well into 40s in terms of wear and tear. He hasnt fought for a year untill late last yr and early this yr against below avaerage fighters (bums) and still he look very shot. Add to the fact that he has always fought at lighter divisions such as 122, 126 and recent years 130.......then you have Warren making the right moves for his man whilst pulling PR hype in the same process.
Whilst I am picking Barrera to win Khan is looking physically huge in comparison to the slight Mexican. Barrera's skills will see him through but Khan looks like he might be aiming to be the heavy hitter in this match up. In the end it doesn't matter as there is a huge gulf in class. Barrera has the skills to pay the bills and Khan's chin is ropey at best. Khan goes down at the first sign of a good combo but will learn from the experience and move on to fight another day, possibly at domestic level.
Fail. After recently going the distance with JMM and Pacman, Barrera is still what many would consider to be dangerous. In comparison I doubt Khan could last three rounds with JMM or Manny.
I actually am rooting for Amir Khan on this fight. I picked "Barrera SD" on all the fight prediction leagues that I am a member of, because it's the safer bet, but I'll be rooting for the underdog this time, in real life.
