I agree, he was a sneak. If i recall correctly I read someplace that he was seen meeting with 1 or 2 of the judges sometime before the fight. He also wanted a larger size gloves to be worn, and also he wanted the ring to be a larger. While I understand that conditions of a fight should be on even terms, leonard had the gall to try to swing things his way That's the way he was, an ultra talented coward who didn't believe in his own abilities to the point that he had to pull tricks.

You're generally considered a Joke poster, a little above Charlie Z and Bigtime 9.

At least Presscott, despite his similar obsession with Oscar, has the benefit of being witty and has the ability to read AND UNDERSTAND posts.

At any rate, as numerous posters have mentioned to you already, Nothing can be inferred about Sugar Ray from his well-past-prime Norris fight.

I could dig up You-tube video of ALi-Holmes or Ali-Berbick and go on to say what an over-rated fighter Ali was.

And did Kevin McBride's destruction of Iron Mike lessen Tyson's greatness ?

I don't think so.

We tend not to count fights too much when a fighter becomes shot.


In regard to Sugar Ray, I never cared too much for the guy. I found him a bit cocky and bordering on arrogant. It was a good night for me when Duran dealt with him in Montreal.

However, like Mayweather, who I don't much care for either, there's no denying the man's talent.

If you understand anything about the sport, you can appreciate Leonard's speed, skill, timing, accuracy, power and Ring Generalship.

Like him or hate him, he was still an ATG and a legend.


That you fail to see that, is the source of your credibility problems with serious posters on here.


BTW, a year or two ago, I made a thread asking posters on the GF and the classic to list in order the top 10 boxers of the last 30 years between 130 and 160 lbs.

When I averaged the results (See post #108 of that thread), Leonard topped the list.

IMO, it should have been Duran at #1 but Leonard was a good choice for #2.
