    Terrible comparison!

Kirkland doesnt have a FRACTION of Tyson's talent, and will never be half as good.

What an insult to Iron Mike.

    Duran?:rofl:rofl:rofl

    Another insult!

Kirkland will NEVER be remotely CLOSE to as good as Duran, or Tyson.

Kirkland doesn't fight small, doesn't move his head, doesn't have handspeed, can't throw a straight punch. ****.....

    Wow.:patsch

This kid hasn't even seen the 11th round of a fight and has only been past 8 once and he has better conditioning then a prime Tyson??:patsch

Kirkland doesn't hit harder then Mike P4P isn't faster P4P doesn't have anywhere close to as good a chin and sure as **** doesn't have the defence Mike had.

So there's "Kirkland is the new Mike Tyson" and "Kirkland is the new Juan Diaz," huh? Is the next one going to compare him to Jorge Arce?

James Kirkland will never be Mike Tyson. If I were to compare him to any past great, it would be Gerald McClellan. I'm not saying he's as good as the G-Man, but that's the guy he kind of resembles to me. Kirkland should watch some old McClellan fights and learn to setup that straight left with his jab and go to the body a little more like McClellan did.

you need to calm down... i'm just looking for people's opinons thats why i put question marks there. Personally i think is too soon to tell but he definitely have great potential due to his obvious physical state when he fights.

Explain. Comparing the styles of two different fighters does mean you are equating their talents.

Kirkland won two bets for me, so he is closely watched by me and I like what I see. Offensively he is pretty good, and durable but thats where it ends. contenders were overwhelmed by kirkland's physical attributes. He needs to work on his defense more to take it to the next level but i think he can do it. Only fighter right now at 154lbs that I will bet against him would be paul williams other than that it is not a safe bet against this kid. And he does got pretty fast hands.
