Tyson Asks Roach TO Help Train @ Wild Card Gym.

    Mike Tyson has fallen on hard times, recently contacting Roach about being hired as a trainer @ wild card gym in California. Roach considers tyson a good friend but he turned down the request for a variety of reasons.

    "Mike's a good guy, he respects me a lot. I just don't think he has the patience to be a trainer. Unfortunately Mike isn't doing well at the moment. I just got a call that he wants a job. Mike came to Manny's Last training day for the De La Hoya Fight"

    "he just told us to be careful moving in straight ilnes because oscar has a longer reach. They were sensible stuff. Its nice to see mike. I'm A big fan of tyson. Very nice guy"

    If I knew tyson i would him to start his own personal training program with a focus on boxing and make it real expensive with a focus towards people with money..... i would definitely pay a couple hundred $ to be trained by mike tyson... that would be dope as hell

    But in all honest if I was a prize fighter I wouldn't mind having someone like Tyson to help me with some tips. Hey, I'm sure he can teach Malignagi to throw a punch with power! :good

    Well is'nt Roach a ***** for turning Mike Tyson down. Mike Tyson is not a child, he is man with a family and a former Champion.

    Fair enough, but As Roach stated he turned Tyson's request down for a number of reasons. I'm willing to bet that one of the reasons is that he feels it would be degrading for Tyson to work in such a capacity.

    As Freddy said, he's a big fan of Tyson & I think Freddy sympathises with Mike's predicament. Can you imagine Tyson carrying a spit bucket or doing things similar to that? I certainly cannot.

    I hope Mike is not on such hard times at the moment that it has come to this. If indeed this is really accurate then I anticipate a comeback pretty sharpish. What else can he do? I really hope it doesn't happen, but what else is going to turn out to the end result?

    I'm a massive Tyson fan, always have been, always will be. Mike is the reason my passion for boxing exists today. He's the reason I first became interested in the sport.

    I will say that Mike has a sound knowledge of the sport, particularly the history of the sport, so I do think from a knowledge & wisdom perspective, he would make a good trainer. I'm just not so sure he would be able to committ himself enough to fighters in the way that Roach does.
