Its not clear who Wladimir Klitschko will face in his next fight. Only one thing is certain: It wont be Chris Arreola. Negotiations between Klitschko and David Haye seem to be stalled, which means the IBF/WBO heavyweight titleholder could go another direction for his June 20 fight date. The rumor is that Arreola tops the list but his promoter, Dan Goossen, said its not going to happen. Instead, Arreola will face Jameel McCline on April 11. A new conference to formally announce that fight was canceled last week, which played into the rumors that Arreola would face Klitschko. No, Goossen responded when asked whether Arreola would be the man. Were going to reschedule the news conference for this Monday or Tuesday. So where does that leave Klitschko? The two most likely opponents are Alexander Povetkin, the IBFs mandatory challenger, and Alexander Dimitrenko, the WBOs No. 1 contender. No heavyweight fight would be bigger than Klitschko-Haye because of the titleholders name and Hayes personality. Klitschko-Arreola would be intriguing because of Arreolas wild style and the fact hes American. The Povetkin and Dimitrenko fights would be of major interest primarily in Germany and Eastern Europe. http://www.ringtv.com/blog/418/arreola_wont_be_fighting_klitschko/
Was Chagaev not calling out Wlad last week. If the Haye fight is of for the time being, I would have thought another unification fight would have been the best option for him.
we will see. I have a funny feeling if Wlad comes knocking on the door, Team Arreola will answer. Say no to a title fight to fight McCline:huh:nono
You do know that Wlad has to face Povetkin in 2009? :dealPovetkin is IBF Mandatory. So it makes sense:deal Do you really think Haye is Wlads only option?
I never heard that. If thats true, Wlad would drop Haye right NOW for a chance at unification... if Wlad won, that would make a show down with Valuev:happy:happy:thumbsup
Chagaev has said he will fight either Klitschko AFTER he fights Valuev again. I hope he is telling the truth. :good
People consider him a elite fighter but his people are treating him like a prospect stepping him up gradually, so he can learn his trade against advance fighters. Basically all i think he needs is to lose weight and he'll be fine in todays horrible division except against Vitali and Haye
I might have got it wrong then, I'm pretty sure you would hear more of it than me. I'm sure i read an article somewhere though where he said he wanted the fight and Wlad didn't but it might have been bull****, or something he said in response to a question or something.
Valuev is scared of both Klitchkos...hes a chicken **** giant that turned down a 50/50 fight with vitali and hes protected! he wont fight either
