What 160-168-175 Pound fighter can beat a peak RJJ

That's mostly because he was good enough, quick enough and smart enough to not get dragged into a war. Once his reflexes started to fade, he became toast, but even if his chin was as bad as you say it was, what evidence is there that any of those guys would be able to nail him full force with a blow to the temple?

 

Noone who's fought in the 168 pound weight class was really even on his level, but a few fighters throughout history who generally fought around that weight but made their livings at MW or LHW could've given him a run for his money or possibly beaten him. Guys like Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore, select members of the Black Murderer's Row, etc.

At 175 I couldn't even rank him among the top 5 in history, even in a head to head sense.

I'd be shocked if anyone on this site was unaware of his existence. He's without question one of the greatest P4P fighters in boxing history.

 

roy jones is overrated by no strech of the immagination was he a **** fighter, ppl think he was an invincible demon in his prime, this couldnt be any further from the truth

 

what fights have u seen to suggests they'd dominate roy reading isnt the same as seeing

 

I never suggested they'd dominate Roy, you simply lack the ability to read. And I've seen plenty of footage of every fighter I just mentioned, both prime and past prime. The fact that I didn't see them at the exact weight of 16doesn't mean their abilities were measurably different there than a few pounds above. Only a simple jackass would think so.

Spinks, Foster and Charles without a doubt IMO...though they would all be good matchups.
I think Harold Johnson and Archie Moore could well beat him..It is probably a real stetch to say Tunney and Loughran do, with the lack of lightheavy footage of them, but if they were that good at heavy, they would at least give Roy a very good scrap. Guys like Bivins, Booker Lloyd Marshell, and Eddie Mustafa Muhummed are others you couldnt count out.
At 160 I reckon Monzon could but you could argue Roy in that one aswell.

 

Fitzimmons would KTFO Roy at 175.. Calzaghe would be a close fight @ 168 imo.(prime for prime)

Hopkins was considered a puncher at Middleweight when he fought Jones. If you look at his run at Middleweight, he had a great KO percentage.

John Ruiz had a Heavyweight punch and was going up against a former Middleweight.

David Telesco had a nice punch.

Trinidad was shot but he still had his power. If you watch the fight, you could hear the thuds his punches would make on Jones's body.

Jorge Fernando Castro had 90 KO's and was Roy's 18th opponent. Castro lost a wide UD over 10 rounds.

There you go. I named you five instead of four. There's probably others.

James Toney, he was not shot either and was a harder puncher p4p than any of those guys.

Michael Spinks, Archie Moore, Bob Foster, Ezzard Charles would murder Jones IMO.
