Where does Taylor go should Froch win?

I guess it somewhat depends on performance, but I think it would be hard to justify a top 30 placing at all for someone with three defeats in their last four. Especially as Pavlik hasn't exactly franked the theory of him being somekind of superman and Froch would still be relatively unexposed.

I tend to think I have him higher than he actually deserves already.

Both Top 30....winner goes into top 20

Taylor possibly top 15 due to depth of opponents

Hope it's the Cobra who wins, when he's not badmouthing Joe Calzaghe to try and lure him out of retirement he's actually quite affable

You have Froch in the top 30 P4P already?

Or you're putting him in on the basis of him signing to fight Taylor, regardless what happens in the fight?

I just think the WBC SMW champion who is undefeated albeit relatively thin in the CV department comes in at around at least the 30th best fighter in the world.

I'm not saying it as a fact, just my opinion.

Does it actually matter who is #29 or 30 in the world? It's not very meaningful.

If I ever bothered to consider it I'd have a top 10, and then a list of considerations should somebody at the bottom end of the 10 prove themselves unworthy (not neccessarily ONE loss!). I think that would be a progressional system rather than knee jerk based as The Rings is.

The Caballero admission into the Ring P4P list did tarnish it's validity I must say

And yeah I guess the number 30 is a tad irrelevant but as a gauge showing where both guys are at in terms of current form, skill, names on record etc its shows that they are both world class but a fair distance from the true elites at the moment

Would Kessler still be higher on p4p lists than the winner of Froch-Taylor by the way???

I don't know, I think you'd struggle to find a p4p list posted by me. I've never thought about it, or where Kessler would be.

The problem Froch has at world class is his depth of competition is not great. He's fought Jean Pascal, I'm not even sure if Pascal was a top 10 fighter. If he was he was on the fringes.

Kessler has fought Andrade, Beyer, Mundine and Siaca who were all top 10 ranked at the time and disposed of them easily. So I guess it would come down to whether you rank the stand out win over Taylor above that.

I validate my opinion to nearly every other forum user. Unfortunately in your case i'd rather take the **** out of you. Sorry.

I think Taylor is better than those four guys but the sheer volume of very good opponents favours Mikkel when doing the hypothetical rankings.

I'd like to see Froch win just because I don't think Taylor would fight Kessler whereas I could see Froch wanting to fight the Dane.

If Taylor won it would be held ransom in the US with defences against Allan Green, Tavouris Cloud etc

You make as many awful posts as you do good ones.......if you didn't contradict yourself so much then that in itself isn't a problem because opinions are opinions......but you take criticism very badly and have biases which you find hard to shift for some reason

Froch has yet to demonstrate any world class form other then the win over Pascal, Kessler has a proven track record at world class. Froch being a better fighter is not even arguable. Kessler is number one at the weight until he is beaten. Beating Taylor who was outboxed by Pavlik is hardly a huge deal, just a good victory, if he can get it.

Probably true. Froch does seem to have a good attitude towards making proper fights.

Hopefully that would happen, but it depends on Kessler coming out of the court unscathed. I think that poses him more problems than anything in the boxing ring right now.
