Greg Page had a good right hand and good skills and speed when he trained for a fight and came in shape...Holmes avoided a fight with him because of it. Page was not a great fighter but had some very good nights and could have caused a Buster Douglas on one of those good nights. To maintain at that level was another thing....but some guys could be a hell of a flash in the pan

Was this what Mike was talking about in his "anybody know Friday's full name" interview?

damn have people around here never been to a boxing gym before? everybody no matter who you are gets their share of butt whippings and that's where you are taught to improve on your weaknesses. some people esp the better fighter usually will take it easier sometimes on their sparring partner to improve their defense or their footwork and be told not to punch back, just block and move or use jab only. do people actually think mike gets up in the morning and knocks guys out and lays on a couch all day? :-( i'm sure he's gotten whipped plenty of times and has not been recorded

Yes, it was... I work in Fridays corner for all of his fights.. I have been a very close friend since his first days he ever went to Vegas from Nigeria..

Friday is still a very dangerous fighter.. he just came off 2 wins over unbeaten opponents a lot younger than him.........

    God bless..

Tyson didn't even see the punch, this basically proved Tyson was heading for an asskicking.

Don`t know why some yanks are slating Mike Tyson,he`s American as is obvious and deep down they are pining for another Mike Tyson to emerge as we all are.It wasn`t that long ago he set the world alight when at his peak when heavyweights were top notch still.

Tyson was so not on it. The Douglas fight itself is painful- he was v out of shape, rumours of plenty of japamese call girls cannot be good pre fight...was Tyson on medication at the time?

If Michael Jordan gets burned in practice it isn't a story, if Tiger Woods misses a put in practice it's not a story, Randy Moss dropping a pass, Peyton throwing an interception, Jose Reyes letting a grounder go threw his legs...etc etc etc Tyson made a mistake and got caught with a nice shot....IN PRACTICE! :deal:lol: Boxing fans are harsh, I tell ya :patsch

But none of those examples have any physical ramifications for upcoming performances. You don't go on the disabled list or cancel a tournament because you have a bad practice in all those sports.

A bad sparring session can cause serious injury that can have major implications for a fighter. Fights have been cancelled many times because of prefight sparring injuries. If you get an undiagnosed concussion from a sparring session you can suffer after effects for several days or even weeks.
