I was a world champion, and there are a few things that us boxers see and know that goes on before, during, and after a boxing match that the ordinary fan does not see. As far as opinions on boxing, think of it like this. You have trained all of your life to become a lawyer, and you become a lawyer. Then you hit the street, and go to a bar and you hear guys talking about the law as if they know about the law. Sure they know a few things about the law, but they don't know what you know.
Really? So you think $1 million is the most he has ever earnt or ever will earn? You realise his purse for fighting Enzo Mac was bigger than that right?
The fight should have been made. Haye is the challenger. If he does not want a shot at the title that is fine, but if he wanted it then it would have been made.
If you are indeed geniune and won one from WBC, WBA, IBF or WBO, or indeed The Ring title, then may I congratulate you on reaching the peak of your chosen profession something that many people would love to do in their chosen career. However, you'll have to forgive me here if I disagree with you on a few points. Firstly a Lawyer would have every right to feel annoyed if he heard someone talking what he knows to be wrong about the Law. There are many grey areas but it's one of those things that if you express an opinion it can only be right or wrong. However sport is incredibly different. Lennox Lewis has people who disagree with everything he says on HBO and yet Steve Bunce, who I know did box briefly but to a very different standard, is, to all my friends at least, a man whose opinion they respect and normally agree with. The best sporting example I can give here is football. Sir Bobby Charlton is one of England's, possibly even amongst the World's, greatest players and was an awful manager and yet Jose Mourhinio played to what was almost park level but was a much, much more successful manager. Success in the ring, success in any sport, means that you were technicaly good but that doesn't always equate to knowledge about the sport. Anyway, as I say above, if you are geniune, congratulations on achieving something that would make 99.9% of us on here rather envious.
I hate the word ducking. as soon as something falls apart... fans say "1 guy is ducking" You all know me and what I do, but in no way do I think Haye is DUCKING... I think Hayes has a problem with his ego.... its to big and its getting in the way of common sense. He is acting like the Champion and has forgotten that he is the challenger
Firstly, that two fight rematch clause against either Vitali or Wlad was a disgrace, if true. 1 rematch clause vs Wlad would be fine, but the clause also said that he HAD to drop the belts if need be to fight either brother of their choosing. That, if true was disgraceful. But furthermore, an absolute ***** move by Wladimir 'if I cant beat you big brother will do it for me' Klitshcko. Secondly, when negotiations broke down for the first time, it was Haye's team who brought in Schefer to try and salvage the deal, so clearly they were desperate to make the fight happen. Wlad's team seem far more at fault if you ask me, that clause was ridiculous.
That I will agree to This is what has been told to me.... Wlad and Haye make verbal agreements.. everything is written down in the contract... Wlad signs and sends to Haye... Haye sits on it and then asks for changes again... not because something was wrong, but because he "changed his mind about an issue".... they talk...make a new contract... Haye has this last contract over a week... now wants changes yet again on a different issue (on things all ready agree to)... now they are in talks again...... it shouldnt be this hard. Haye has been givin 3 signed contract but just wont sign:huh
because Booth was in over his head... he had never dealt with this kind of fight before.. this kind of money, ticket sales, promotion... not nailing the guy. he just lacked experience on a fight of this size
I think Haye is afraid because he knows Wladimir is the best boxer ever and he knows that Wladimir will kick his ass real bad :bbbDavid Haye is a sissy
@David, anything new on Klitschko vs. Haye?? I talked to Bashir and he told me that it's sure that he will fight on june 20th in Germany. I hope the date wont change??
