It sucks even more that Arum finally and for real showed and expressed that he has no interest in building up Pavlik vs. Abraham and that he won't give any support to make this fight happen...he simply means that the Germans (SE) should take care of their own business if they want the fight to happen. Only if HBO would press him hard, and by that I mean money, it would be possible.

Well hopefully this part is true, but MORA!!, would have been my last choice vs. Pav to set up that double header we'd been hoping for, as he has just the right abilities to make the fight a stinker. Hopefully, IF true, Pav blasts his ass out of there good (as 99% of ESB wants to see Mora beat down), cause if it ends up a stinker Pav will be criticized to high hell and back.:yep

 

Sorry to have to say (you know how boxing is...) this is sort of what we'd been hoping for....a double header featuring Pav and AA on the same card (against "bums" lol.) where both come away looking like absolute beasts of fighters to set up the big one.

 

Yes, and like we'd been saying : On the SAME card. That seems to always work over here. Recent example would be Tarver and Dawson. Seemed they would never fight, but put them both on the same card..where both looked like superiors, and BINGO. We got the fight.

While everybody agrees Mora is a **** opponent, calling him a JMW where he only DROPPED down there to take on Forrest for a direct title shot (and of course the rematch) every body knows Mora is atleast a damn MW.

I wouldn't want to see KP vs Duddy. But seeing Kelly smash Mora around will be a real treat. They are just keeping him active, against someone with a name (contender) & a title (beating Forrest), until things can be worked out to fight AA.

You can't rush things in boxing these days. Thats just the way it is.

 

I'm a Pavlik fan but this is pretty bad. Another junior middleweight who has no chance? When Taylor did this everyone rightly complained.

The only possible excuse is if Abraham is on the undercard and they are trying to build up a Pavlik-Abraham fight in the fall.

 

Yeah. People know it but hate to admit it because your favorites are so long between bouts. Baseball. Every frigging day. Football, once a week. Basketball, a few times a week. Boxing match? 4 months is a short turnaround time.
