Apparently you don't know HW boxing very well. Yeah, they should just get the Haye fight done, agreed, but Dimetrenko is more deserving than Austin or Thompson and is a legitimate top-10 HW right now. Face it, beating someone to "earn" a title shot rarely happens any more. In that category, Povetkin has the best claim.
I was obviously exagerating, but if you take Krasniqi off his resume, he has no decent name. Monte Barrett is a better name than anyone he ever fought, even though Tye did lose to him quite easily.
:nono Also, we weren't talking about fighters that may be on the same level. We are talking about fighters who you said are more deserving of a title shot, or mandatory status than him. Obviously fighters who hold a title, are already fighting for a different title, HAVE JUST LOST, or haven't done anything of note recently wouldn't be ranked above him for a title shot.:good Dimitrenko is actually ranked in the top ten by Ring Mag as well. He is ranked #1 by the WBO, #4 by the IBF, #3 by the WBC, and #4 by the WBA.
was just telling you how he got in line for a shot. Dont start blaming Wlad on this if you dont think he deserves the shot.... blame WBO:deal
I'm aware of that, but we all have seen organization bodies rank fighters way too high for no good reason. You remember Wlad fighting guys like Brewster and Sanders, and how they seemed to jump a bunch a spots right before Wlad signed the contract with them, even when Brewster was like 14 or 15 months inactive and Sanders was semi-retired when he got the call to fight Wlad in Germany in the summer of 03. I do see your point Widdow, but in your honest opinion, do you really think Dimitrenko deserves a title shot? I grant you, he's no better or worse than a Rahman or Austin, but isn't time Wlad fights a more quality or at a more proven oppenent?
Ah, screw it. No one here really thinks AD should be the next opponent and the article referenced by the thread starter is pure speculation. Let's just let this one die.
