In that case the word superfight was the wrong one......

If you say significant/important/exciting etc then sure, most if not all suggestions on here are valid.....

But like TFFP said, a superfight is almost an event that is world renowned at the time it takes place

No thanks.......I'm using my opinion to let you know I think your opinion would make for good toilet water.

Even based on the original post you made Lewis - Vitali was not a superfight and didnt last long enough to be called epic. The only significance was that it turned out to be Lewis' last fight.

Why not? Lewis, though not in the best of shape, was coming off one of the best performances of his career and Vitali was hardly past his best was he?

But they weren't two ATG's. They were one.

You think a superfight is something less than what I do....

Yet you underplay big fights like Froch - Taylor as mere "international matchups"

There seems to be no consistency and middle ground with your views

I rate Vitali.... his win over the worlds leading contender in Corrie Sanders and then Danny Williams who had just beaten Tyson were significant victories due to the form of his opponents at the time he beat them. Its a weak divsion no doubt, but that didn't stop Joe Calzaghe becoming an ATG did it. Klitshcko has barely put a foot wrong in his career. I'm sure i'm not alone in my appreciation of his talent.

Vitali is a very good HW no doubt whatsoever.....but his status at the time the fight was made did not and does not constitute a superfight.

Like I said, if you look back over acheivements and career paths to define a superfight it just doesn't work.

Other wise Jones - Calzaghe, Eubank - Calzaghe, Jones - Hopkins, Holmes - Tyson could all be called superfights

But they clearly were not and still aren't

Got there in the end didn't we.....:patsch

Froch and Taylor are from different countries.

Therefore it is an international match-up......

Even if the winner does become 29th P4P best in the world:rofl

You really have once again made a right **** of yourself today, haven't you?....:happy

There are plenty of talented fighters that have done more. It does not make them greats.

Danny Williams beat a version of Tyson akin to the Roy Jones that fought Calzaghe and I don't see Calzaghe getting much love for it. It means nothing for the Danny Williams that fought Vitali, and overall Danny Williams has not matched up at world class.

Klitschko has put plenty of feet wrong. He quit on his stool against Chris Byrd. He lost to the least motivated and most heavy version of Lewis. His on-off injuries dickteased the boxing public for years about his imminent comeback. He has never fought anywhere near the consistency of opponent of his brother, take a look at his wins such as Kirk Johnson and Larry Donald for example. He has never unified belts.

All Vitali is and probably ever will be is a physical beast that probably, and I mean probably matches up extremely well head to head. Which is not the same as actually being great, and proving yourself as great.

You called it an international matchup in the context of playing the fight down and it's obvious you're not coming to terms with what a superfight is.

And no, not really........you make more of a "****" of yourself with some of your downright silly replies.

They bear no relativity to the Lewis-Klit match up at all... Klit-Lewis was not a clash of unknown prospects, or a significantly past it former champion against a defending titlist....

On this board it's Mr Plow TKO 1 vs Jeff Thomas

His replies are useless and his need for oneupmanship is daft.

I didn't list any unknown prospects........

And my post is very relevant as it's how you're trying to justify Lewis-Vitali as a superfight

    Try and keep up......
