Tonight i think reinforced the idea for me that sitting at ringside is not always the best place to judge a fight....Lenny Zapp easily beat Gairy, but frankly he didnt land f all whilst doing it..Judging from the boys at ringside all the ooohs and aaahs..you think St Claire would be spending a night in Campbelltown Hospital tonight....Overall enjoyed the card though and happy enough to spend money for it.
While i didn't see the fights myself, after reading the rd by rd here it is now crystal clear that Haumono will do nothing past the domestic scene in boxing. No disrespect to Colin Wilson, but he is just an old journeyman who has been stopped 13 times in 24 losses. If Haumono had it in him to go anywhere in the world of boxing then he should be blowing away the like of Couser and Wilson without hardly breaking a sweat.
Sol is no world beater and never will be...But ill hand it to him, he came back at Wilson and adjusted like you will rarely seen any fighter do against Col. He showed a little more chin, ticker and stamina then I thought he had...Keep in mind I have never ever been that impressed by Sol, he is no more then just a tad above domestic level.
Well they did clash heads at one point but that was hardly the reason for the KO! Geale hurt him badly with the 1st right he landed and it was a matter of time from there.. By jeez Ian has gone back some way since I last saw him. He's a top bloke so hopefully he gives it away now
Sounds great!!! Sol is a aussie level fighter.. no more, he will start to go backwards soon, he isnt very young anymore.
He was probably fitter for the Colin fight , more than likley he'd probably been enjoying your Aussie hospitality a tad too much by the time the Gregory fight occured , when i catch up with the fat ****er i will ask him about the Aussie segment of his career , over a gallon of course .:yep P.S Phil did Bugners boy fight pro down under and if he did what name did he fight under ?
