Lets suggest Wlad fight someone of consequence this time, who is still something more than a journeyman

Like the top ten fighters and other champions he has been fighting all along? Now, tell me a heavyweight in the top ten that Haye has fought? Briggs is nothing, he will fall over from being out of gas.

 Yeah right. Wlad would get NO credit for beating Briggs. I can just hear the asthmatic excuses already.

    :good

I would love to see Wladimir vs. James Toney.

Why all contenders are so silent?

The Champ wants to fight at 20th June!

For all of the times you use this one.... I don't get how you can though...

The "haters" were not a concern in previous opponent selections, how convenient that it's a concern when the opponent actually has the ability to KO Wlad.

Dimitrenko, Povetkin, Toney would be my first three choices, then we can talk about Shannon "The Cannon Fodder" Briggs.

    LOL
Yes he is... nikolai "the caveman" valuev... and i think this name says it all.. he fights like this lololo but i can't get over it how unfair it is to let valuev always win and his promoter buy the fights i guess...(okay i think he tried to start fighting for the first time at his last fight lol) but this is the part what i don't really like about boxing.. it's all about money, buying fights... esp here in germany it's been crazy there are a way better fighters and real champion prospects... umm :verysad you almostalways know who's going to win...
he won't have a chance, wladimir would kick his butt real bad haha this would be a funny fight... valuev would cry like a baby :yep

Right. Get the mandatory out of the way to make more free time in the future with which to try, once again, to entice the WBA titleholder into a unification.

    Forget that Briggs is incative.

Forget that Briggs is not a contender.

Forget that Briggs looked like dog **** in his recent fights.

Wlad should face Briggs on the basis that Shannon called him a *****.:patsch

Back when it was announced that Wlad might be fighting Briggs, this board was on fire with posters bashing on Wlad for even considering giving Briggs a title shot. I still remember to this day how badly he was thrashed while that was going around. Then once that fight was ruled out some haters changed their tune to "Wlad is ducking Briggs".:-( Then... when Lyakhovich ended up being the next opponent, people said that was ok. I remember this because I was pointing out the double standard that it was ok for Lyakhovich but not ok for Wlad to fight Briggs. They would come back with the reasoning that more is expected of Wlad than is expected of Lyakhovich.:yep Then.... Lyakhovich beats Briggs until the last second of the fight, and then Briggs is thoroughly outboxed by Ibragimov... Wlad thoroughly outboxes Ibragimov... Briggs sits inactive for 2 years and all of the sudden he becomes an opponent that Wlad is ducking or that he SHOULD fight?

It's funny how Briggs doesn't become a dangerous opponent for Wlad until AFTER that fight isn't a real possibility. :think
