Both have good jabs, but Primo is alot faster than Valuev. Better movement, footwork, wide array of punches. He wont knock him out but Primo gives him a thourough beating.
I don't know who wins, but it has the potential to be one of the very worst fights from a fan pleasing perspective in heavyweight history.
Whatever Carneras limitations he is a class above Valuev. He would probably outpoint Valuev to take a convincing UD.
You should keep in mind that carnera wasnt as big as people now days think albite he was huge for those days but still nowhere near as big as valuev
Its above mediocre, Id rate that as good. Primo can bang and is pretty active, it may be one sided but it wont be boring
I wouldn't exactly label either man as being particularly "big bangers." Especially considering that both were/are physical giants in their own perspective eras, and weren't really putting their much smaller counter parts to sleep. I see this as being a decision verdict between two slow moving men who don't want to mix it up. Any guy can take this one in my opinion, but given that Valuev was arguably beaten ( or damn near ) by a 46 year old Holyfield, I think any half ass fighter would certainly stand a chance. Then again, I don't know what a prime primo would do against an ancient Holyfield either.
From Boxrec - Carnera: won 89 (KO 72) + lost 14 (KO 5) + drawn 0 = 103 rounds boxed 529 : KO% 69.9 Valuev: won 50 (KO 34) + lost 1 (KO 0) + drawn 0 = 52 rounds boxed 265 : KO% 65.38 I would have to give Carnera an edge in quality of opposition which makes his 72 KO's mean a little more to me than Valuevs 34 even though the KO % are fairly close. If you stop over 65% of the guys you face I'd have to say you can at least bang a little As to my pick - Well, I'd have to go with Carnera on this one. His win over Jack Sharkey easily eclipses anything the Russian Bear On Stilts has done. Not all Carnera's fights were fixed and he has more KO's than Valuev will have total fights. On film he looks far smoother, faster, moves better and would also be the stronger man, I think, by a lot. Primo was a circus strongman at age 16 and a good wrestler (real - not "pro") Valuev is bigger but that means that there is just more of him to hit since his defense isn't something he is noted for. I can't think of any advantage Valuev has...
