this is actually turning out to be, a quite interesting thread.. IF its a case, of tyson grabbing some teen ass, and nothing more, even with his build, how is it possible, for anyone to praise atlas for pulling a gun on a 15-16 year old boy.. thats insane.. tyson might have broken some ethical and moral code, which could bring out the worst in SOME persons, but to me, the one doing the CRIME and by far most unethical action, was indeed atlas.. im inclined to believe, that atlas dislike towards amato, couldnt have been due to, amato letting tyson getting away with smallish infractions. Simply put, letting a teen boy getting away with a little trouble, shouldnt be a good reason, to dislike someone for so long. For someone to still seem to dislike a person, after so long, im inclined to believe klompton, when he wrote, that atlas was fired. teddys own words from the lalonde rejection, seems to correnspond, with a "hate-reaction" towards tyson and amato. A guy contemplating shooting another, because he was canned as his trainer, could easely hate a fighter for life, for the same reason. i dont know how many of you guys have seen this show, but atlas seems so eager to portray tyson as weak. He simply goes way over the top. It seems as if, he really enjoys picking tyson apart AND He just loves the reaction and the attention his words brings.
I believe it was more that "grab-ass" and the things Tyson was getting away with were pretty serious. Apparently Tyson was doing the same thing to girls at school and when the trouble came, Cus would visit the principal and tell him how Tyson was gonna be famous and make Catskill famous so let it slide. Still no excuse to pull a gun on a 16 year old kid when your a grown man.
Obviously something sparked Atlas and history has shown Tyson is a convicted ******, is there another instance of Atlas holding a gun to someone .

yeah something sparked atlas.. somehting also sparked him ,when he contemplated shooting lalonde, after lalonde canned him as a coach.. not really the thoughs of a coherant man.. lots of people get fired, without the desire to shoot their former employer correct that tyson is a convicted ******, but i just find it hard to believe he did it.. tyson did the time and now years later still claim he didnt do it.. WHY?? what would he have to lose, by coming clean.?? pardon my french, but tyson could have and probably did ****, alot of hot women.. no need for him to **** anyone.. and by the way, grabbing some girl ass, as a teen boy with hormones raging, doesnt constitute enough of a reason, to pull a gun on a that boy.
I think the point is he tried to have sex with an eleven year old girl. That's not OK when you're 15, 16 whatever. We're talking about a child. And if its your family, that would tend to **** you off. Mike would not listen to Teddy, so Teddy made sure he understood.
If you found out some 15-16 year old boy tried to have sex/played grab ass with your 11 year old neice or whatever against her will, wouldn't you be pissed off?

It was class mate, and Atlas changed story many times, regarding: Who girl was (Cousin, in-law, or sister) age (started at 14, worked way down) and even reason---he was on way out with D'amato, and was mad at Tyson for not listening to him in gym, and other reasons having nothing to do with a girl. Story of girl did not come out of Atlas mouth till 1988-89, till then it had been over disipline issues. I calle dAtlas media ***** earlier. Let me explain. He spent whole time since D'amato days cultivating friends in media (and boxing circles.) Chris "Mad Dog" Russo, formaly of WFAN, and now on Sirius radio, was small timer back in 1982 on Catskill radio show. Atlas would get up at 5 am to do boxing talk on his show. Atlas also made sure that while with Cus he made aquantice with peopl elike Mike Jones, who was biggest boxing manager at time, Lou Duva, Micky Duff, and others. When Cus kicked him out, Atlas wound up at Gleasons, after leaving Duva after a brief stay. Atlas felt Duva, just starting as promotter in smal Jersey arena, was not going to be big. :rofl Atlas got to Gleasons, and got breeak from Ira Becker, manager of Gleasons. ( Years later, after gym moved to Brooklyn, and Becker, old and recovering from heart attack, got smacked by trainer Billy Giles in face, supposed tough guy Atlas did nothing) While gym was in Manhattan, other trainers would stay late with fighters, or go home after. Not Tedd. He had jacket and slacks stored in his little private room (courtesy of Becker, and at first paid for by La Londe's manager, Dave Wolf) After training fighters, if a reporter needed info, or interview, Teddy would go out with them. If anyone related to a manger, promoter, or reporter had a Bar Mitzvah, a wake, a party, Atlas was on way in jacket and tie. Trainers and boxers would be invited to press conferences. They would show up in sweatsuits, aAtlas would have tie ans suit, and after would hook up with reporters or someone like Mike Jones, and go out with them. He promoted self, often at expense of fighters. He was suspected of leaking stuf abou tothers to media. And, most important, he slammed Mike T constantly. Tyson had just turned pro. It payed off for Atlas. Guys like Chris Russo made sure he got good press. So did Michael Katz, (big boxing writer in 80's) who he would always be buying drinks for. Wally Matthews, now a writer and commentator, was just starting out. Atlas gave him exclusives on Tyson, as Tysn's carrer grew. It was Matthews, just a guy working for Newsday at time, and new to reporting, who Atlas used the most. That video you now see on Youtube of Tyson crying to Atlas before amateur bout? Mathews publisized it, after Atlas had someone give him copy of tape. That is when "Atlas was Tyson's first trainer" bull**** started. Ever wonder why Atlas does Olympics, and ESPN, when there are so many other better trainers out there? Media connections. By 1997 he was friends with the late Norman Mailer and Jack Newfield, and attended parties with them. He met Max Kelleremen through them. Ever wonder why Atlas and friends beat crap out of a fan and got away with it at Garden? Or was able to attend trial of Anthony Spiro, a heroin dealer who killed a teenager, and not get flack about it? Because he whored way to top. No one in media had balls or integrity to question his stories over the years, or his problems. He abuses someone? It was "integrity issue." He's trianing Sammy the Bull Grqvano and his crew for free? "He didn't know who they were at first, thought they were businessmen." That is an actual quote, by the way. After he 'Found out" who Gravano was---well, reporters brushed it off "Teddy is loyal to friends, and by then they were friends." Meanwhile they were writing that Tyson had "obsesion with gangsters"--and and Atlas was saying it to media. No Hypocrite, he's honest Teddy. One day, if things go fair, truth about Atlas will come out. Some, the 'Teddy would beat Spider Man in street fight" crowd, will defend him still, but most people will realize he is what he calls others--a liar, a phoney and piece of ****.
That was over George refusin to shake Atlas hand earlier in an elevtor. Atlas thought Foreman would not do same in fornt of press, but Foreman again refused.
