You guys do know that up until a couple fights ago Arreola was coming in great shape right? Also, not all fighters have an awesome body type, but that doesn't mean they don't have good conditioning. When he gets up for a big fight, like the Wills fight was supposed to be a big challenge... Arreola came in shape. This content is protected
You are right Ruskull, you can't always judge by how built someone is. Though even guys like James Toney looked in-shape, as well as built when fought Rydel Booker back in 03 I believe. Though since then he rarely ever looks in-shape, against Rahman the second time he was down in weight and seemed to be on his way to knockout until Rahman quit after 3rd round. I just dont think Arreola is good enough to beat a Haye, who IMO would outclass him in the ring.
If Arreola can take Hayes punch for a few rounds i expect a stoppage by Arreola if not haye by KO early.
WiDDoW, serious post here. I feel that Haye will beat Wlad in their upcomming matchup, I think he has the tools to do it. At the same time, I know there is a chance that Wlad could spark Haye out early or outclass him for 12 rounds with that piston jab. Objectively what do you think of the matchup ? Where do you feel that Wlad will go if he wins ? Where do you feel that Haye will go if he wins ?
I would love to, thanks for asking. Arreola is a true HW and I'll bet he punches at least as hard as Haye does. His chin hasn't been checked by Cruiserweights............I know, I know, Haye is so fast it'd be like the matrix in there, :yep but Haye is sloppy and his defense blows, Arreola would land eventually & they'd have to carry his sorry ass outta the ring on a stretcher.
:rofl My mistake Widdow, I apologize. I didn't mean to call you RUSKULL, it was a honest mistake on my part.
I honestly feel that in the heavyweight division, with big punches like Wlad and Haye everyone has a chance. The most realistic outcome is for me is that Wlad will tame Haye with his jab early... manhandle Haye in the clinches when Haye gets wild inside... and then grind Haye down, and then take him out. Reason being is that Haye gets off balance and wild with his punches. He leaves himself wide open to counters, but also leaves himself wide open to eating something huge coming in. Due to Haye's output, I don't think that Wlad will bother opening up too early, because he will most likely tame Haye first, and let Haye's nervous energy burn off before really going to work. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if Wlad timed him with a big right, or a left hook as Haye is lunging in with one of his winging shots. I think that the biggest problem for Haye, which will be apparent early on is that he is going to find it VERY hard to judge the correct distance between the two. Haye is used to fighting guys that he is bigger than, or at least the same size. He isn't used to fighting someone bigger and longer than himself. On the other hand, Wlad fights guys Haye's size on a regular basis and this is nothing new to him. Wlad is great at dictating the pace and distance, and Haye will find that a huge hurdle to leap immediately when the fight starts. I am guessing that Wlad will be content to paste Haye with jabs over the first couple of rounds as the frustration and doubt begins to build in Haye's mind. Once Haye begins to slow down and become a bit desperate, that's when I feel that Wlad will really begin to pick up the pace and throw punches with bad intentions. Now... Wlad's possible problem is going to be backing straight up, because while Haye is smaller, he isn't a tiny man, and he does close the distance fast. Wlad needs to keep moving side to side, circling with his movements so that Haye doesn't have a chance to close that distance with a quick right hand as Wlad's moving back. Wlad has become much better at this though since the Sanders fight, and I don't see it being a real issue. If Wlad wins, I see him moving along the same path that he is currently on. He will continue to beat all of the top contenders, and try to unify titles which may never happen. I honestly hope that Vitali retires soon so that Wlad can really open up more. I don't really see Wlad being defeated before he decides to retire as long as he doesn't become complacent. If Haye wins of course a rematch with Wlad would follow. If he beats Wlad twice than I would be sure that a fight against Vitali would follow. I honestly think that Haye is going to have trouble against the top heavyweights. I think that someone like Povetkin would really put a beating on him. That isn't anything against Haye because I know that he is a very talented, and dangerous fighter. I just don't think that his actual boxing ability and toughness are equal to his athletic abilities of being very fast and explosive. He is very good but I don't think that he beats the top heavyweights in the world.
